The 70th Week Of Daniel Deception

Understanding the seven years of the 70th week of Daniel is very important, because of the truth about their fulfillment, and the deceptions which are based on them.

The truth is that the 70th week of Daniel started when Messiah was baptized at age 30, and anointed by the Spirit.

Messiah’s ministry took place during the first half of the 7 years; so it’s not possible that it is yet future.

The truth is that the covenant of Daniel 9:27 is not just a 7-year covenant, as we’ve been led to believe.

It is the everlasting covenant, the same one that Abraham was saved by, as he believed by faith that the Father would provide a Lamb to atone for his sins.

The truth is that Messiah and His Disciples fulfilled the 70th week of Daniel, from 27-34 A.D., when they confirmed with the Jews for 7 years that He is the promised Messiah, who ratified the everlasting covenant with His blood as the Passover Lamb.

Messiah confirmed that He was the promised Messiah through His miracles, His wisdom, His knowledge of the Hebrew letters, His fulfillment of prophecy, and by His resurrection.

After Messiah’s ascension, the Apostles continued to confirm to the Jews that He is the promised Messiah, by proclaiming how He fulfilled prophecy and how He rose again.

On Pentecost, 3,000 Jews were saved from the witness of the Apostles being filled with the Spirit, and preaching the Gospel in their languages. The Church of Messiah is built on a foundation of Jews, who accepted Messiah as their Savior.

Paul proclaimed Jew first, and so it was. The seven years ended when the Jewish leaders stoned the Apostle Stephen to death, when he proclaimed that they had killed their promised Messiah.

Immediately after Stephen’s death, the Gospel was also shared with the Gentiles.  The disciples were scattered throughout Judea and preached the Gospel. Philip was led to the Ethiopian Eunuch, who was saved. Saul was converted to be the Apostle to Gentiles. Peter was given the vision of the unclean animals, which represented that the everlasting covenant was to be preached to the Gentile nations. The Samaritans received salvation and the Spirit of the Father.

Scripture clearly shows us how the 70th week of Daniel was fulfilled, as Messiah and His Apostles confirmed with the Jews that He is their promised Messiah.

Some accepted Him and were saved, but most rejected Him and were condemned.

The deception is that the 70th week of Daniel hasn’t been fulfilled yet.

We’ve been told that it is about an end-times antichrist who makes a 7-year peace agreement with Israel, which starts a 7-year tribulation period.

The Jesuits created this deception in the 16th century to deflect blame away from the Popes of Rome, as the Protestant Reformers had rightly identified them as the Little Horn of Daniel, Son of Perdition of 2 Thessalonians 2, and antichrist beast of Revelation 13.

They had Jesuit Priest Francisco Ribera, a brilliant man with a doctorate in theology, write a 500 page commentary with an opposing view, where he manipulated prophecies in the books of Daniel and Revelation, to create the narrative of a one-man antichrist in an end-time 7-year tribulation.

This idea, called Futurism, was quickly adopted as the Roman Catholic Church’s official position on the Antichrist.

The true Church effectively rejected these futuristic concepts until the 19th century, when the Jesuits caused several people to promote these concepts; including Pastor Edward Irving, John Nelson Darby and Cyrus Ingerson Scofield, which led to these deceptions being taught at Dallas Theological Seminary, where the leaven of the Jesuits deceptions have spread around the world.

The historical witness of the many persecuted believers and theologians of the past have been pushed aside, and futurism is now taught by most Pastors.

I understand that this explanation of the 70th week of Daniel may be new to you, so I want to step back and take a child-like, logical view of the prophecy.

Simply ask yourself:

How long does it take the Father to fulfill His own 70 week prophecy?

The obvious and correct answer is 70 weeks.  If a 70 week prophecy is given and it is not fulfilled in 70 consecutive weeks, then the prophecy is not valid.

What week follows the 69th week?

The obvious answer is the 70th week, but the enemy would have you believe that there is a 1,990+ year time gap between the 69th and 70th week, even though there is no such time gap defined in Daniel 9.

Daniel 9:25 mentions the arrival of the promised Messiah, and then Daniel 9:27 mentions a ‘covenant‘. Whose covenant do you suppose that it is referring to?

Isn’t it logical to assume that it is Messiah’s covenant, as the reason that He came was to die to ratify the everlasting covenant with His blood as the Passover Lamb?

The text even proclaims that He was ‘cut off‘, meaning that He was killed, in the middle of the seven years, which matches Isaiah’s prophecy about the promised Messiah, in Isaiah 53:8, “He was taken from prison and from judgment. And as for His generation, who considered that He shall be cut off from the land of the living? For the transgression of My people He was stricken.

The consequences of the 70 Weeks of Daniel deception are grand!

The enemy’s end times deception is based on the concept of a futuristic 70th week of Daniel.

It causes people to look for an end times one-man Antichrist, instead of identifying the office of the papacy as the beast of Revelation, the Little Horn of Daniel and the Son of Perdition.

This is the very reason that the end times 7 year tribulation deception was created by the Roman Catholic Church.

They were being accused by the Protestant Reformers of being the Antichrist system who persecuted the saints.

The Protestant Reformers told people to ‘come out of her‘, which caused millions of people to leave the Roman Catholic Church and be saved by the pure Gospel of Messiah.

The enemy has programmed our minds to view the 70th week of Daniel as futuristic. He has used Pastors, Left Behind movies, books, etc.

But when you understand that the 70th week of Daniel has been fulfilled, and that it’s not an end-times 7-year tribulation period; most of the enemy’s deceptions about prophecy fulfillment crumble to the ground.

We’ll start this study by focusing on The Covenant Of The 70th Week Of Daniel 9.

The Covenant Of The 70th Week Of Daniel

The reason this is so very important is that many Pastors teach that it refers to an end-times Antichrist making a peace covenant with Israel.

The framework for the concepts of the pre-tribulation rapture, the 7-year tribulation period, the need for a rebuilt Jewish temple, the antichrist desecrating the temple,
and the 3 1/2 years of Great Tribulation; are ALL based on the premise that the
covenant in Daniel 9:27 is created by an end-times Antichrist.

By proving that it was Messiah coming to confirm the covenant made to Abraham, the premise of it applying to a future antichrist is invalidated.

And thus, the foundation for all of these end-times concepts is destroyed.

Note: I’ve used the King James Bible in this study as it is a literal translation that many people use. For those who prefer to use the Hebrew names of the Father and Son, the prophecy explanations are the same.

What is being taught today about Daniel’s 70th Week is contrary to what has been taught by the top Bible scholars.

Top Bible commentators like Albert Barnes, John Calvin, Adam Clarke, John Gill, Matthew Henry, Matthew Poole and others; all teach that Messiah confirmed the covenant that is referenced in Daniel 9:27, and they all teach that Messiah and His disciples completely fulfilled the 70th Week of Daniel prophecy.

Old Testament prophets foretold Messiah offering a covenant for the sins of men. The New Testament repeatedly confirms that Messiah offered a New Covenant to the House of Israel, and to all who believe in His atoning work on the cross of Calvary, which occurred in the middle of the 70th week of Daniel when He was “cut off.”

Nowhere in the Bible does it say that an Antichrist will make a peace agreement with the modern state of Israel… yet that is what is being taught by pastors.

They speculate about a future fulfillment of the 70th week of Daniel featuring a one-man Antichrist, because they don’t understand it’s past fulfillment by Messiah.

The context of the 70 weeks of Daniel prophecy is NOT about the end-times.

The context of the passage is about Daniel’s people, the Jews, who were due to be released from Babylonian captivity, and Daniel had been praying about their future.

In the passage, Elohim told Daniel (through His angel) that He was giving the Jews one last chance to repent of their sins, to reconcile with Him, and to prepare for their coming Messiah, who would arrive in the 70th week of the prophecy.

The prophecy of the 70 Weeks of Daniel told the Jews EXACTLY what year the Messiah would appear.

Messiah’s disciples understood the timing of the prophecy and were expecting Him, as witnessed when Andrew told his brother Simon, “we have found the Messiah.; and Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write.”

Satan used the hard hearts of the Jewish leaders to hide it from them, which caused them to reject Messiah and deliver Him up to be crucified.

To understand the context of the prophecy, read the complete chapter of Daniel 9.

The focus of this study is Daniel 9:27: “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”

The Covenant of Messiah is a perfect fit with the prophecy of Daniel’s 70 Weeks.

Many modern teachers say that the pronoun ‘he’ represents an end-time antichrist who makes a peace covenant with Israel. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that Antichrist will make, confirm, or break a covenant with anyone, let alone Israel.

The pronoun ‘he’ is referring to the previous noun, Messiah from verse 26.

The prince is Messiah is the same as in verse 25 which declares the arrival of Messiah the Prince.

There are many verses that point to Messiah confirming a covenant during His ministry, which took place during the first half of the 70th Week of Daniel.

And He(Messiah) said to them, “For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” Matthew 26:28

In these words we find four things which agree with the prophecy of Daniel 9:27:

  1. “the One” who was to confirm the covenant, the Messiah;
  2. “the covenant” itself, the renewed covenant made with Abraham;
  3. that which “confirmed” the covenant, the blood of Messiah;
  4. those who receive the benefits of the covenant, the “many” who believe in Him as their Messiah.

These words correspond perfectly with those of the prophecy. “He shall confirm the covenant with many.”

Here’s more verses that testify that Messiah’s shed blood confirmed the New Covenant, which redeemed many.

Zechariah 2:11 “Many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and they shall become My people. And I will dwell in your midst. Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent Me to you.”

Through Messiah, the promise to make Abraham a “father of many nations” was fulfilled, as Messiah’s disciples spread the gospel to many nations.

Isaiah 53:11 says, “He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, For He shall bear their iniquities.

Matthew 20:28 says, “just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.

Romans 5:15 says, “But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.”

Romans 5:19 says, “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.”

Scripture tells us that it is Messiah who confirmed the covenant.

Romans 15:8 clearly tells us that Messiah was sent to confirm the promised made unto Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, etc.

Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers.

Galatians 3:13-18 tells us that the covenant was confirmed before of Elohim in Messiah.

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man’s covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto. Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.”

The word “confirm” tells us that the covenant already existed.

Many teachers says that the Antichrist will “create” or “make” a covenant with Israel, indicating the beginning of a covenant.

But the Father’s word says “confirm” (also rendered “strengthen“), which tells us that the covenant was previously established.

The Father made a covenant with Abraham that He would provide a lamb for their sins, Messiah, the Passover Lamb of Elohim.

And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering? And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.” Genesis 22:7

John the Baptist identified Messiah as the fulfillment of that promise to Abraham:

The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29

Because Abraham believed by faith, Elohim blessed his descendants who believe in the Messiah by faith.

And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.” Genesis 22:15-18

Isaiah 49:8 foretold that the Messiah would be a covenant to His people,

Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages.”

Messiah confirmed that it was He who was the promised One, who would ratify the covenant as the spotless Lamb of ; by his knowledge of the Words of Elohim, by his teachings, by his miracles, by His shed blood, by His being sacrificed as the Passover Lamb, and by His resurrection.

But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me. Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.” John 5:36,39

Paul confirmed that is was Messiah who confirmed the covenant promises.

Romans 15:8 says, “Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers.

Galatians 3:17 says, “And this I say, that the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it should make the promise of no effect.”

So what covenant needed to be confirmed?

Messiah co-authored the Abrahamic Covenant, to redeem Abraham’s spiritual seed, those of all races who believe in the Father, by faith.

Hebrews 12:2, “looking unto Jesus, the author(originator) and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Hebrews 12:24, “Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.”

Hebrews 13:20, “Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant.”

In Genesis 15, the Everlasting Covenant was confirmed by Elohim (the smoking furnace) and Messiah (the burning lamp).

Elohim told Abraham to prepare a sacrifice into two piles, and he waited for the Father to appear. As the day wore on, vultures smelled the meat that was lying in the sun, and began swooping down for a meal.

As evening approached, Abraham became concerned. Where was the Father? He became very tired from protecting the sacrifice all day. Despair and gloom began to envelop him, and he realized that unless something changed very soon, he was in deep trouble.

Elohim had him prepare the sacrifice, and now He was nowhere in sight. Why didn’t He show up? What could have gone wrong?

Bewildered and exhausted, Abraham realized he was fighting a losing battle with those birds, and in despair, he fell into a deep sleep that enveloped him like a dark creeping horror.

The darkness which was “filled with dread” was not caused by the setting sun, but by what looked like the failing of a friendship with the Father that had been built up over many years.

In despair and exhaustion, Abraham lost consciousness, and he also lost control of the sacrifice he had so joyfully prepared to please Elohim. Talk about the death of a vision!

Abraham’s experience was symbolic of the natural life that we bring to the Father.

So long as we trust or depend on our natural capabilities, we cannot enter into the fullness of what the Father has to offer.

Our best efforts may seem good, but in the realm of the Spirit, they are of little consequence. Any offering we bring to the Father, including ourselves, must die first, or be sacrificed.

Only then can we be resurrected and infused with the life-blood of Messiah our Savior. Abraham had to learn right from the start that there was no merit in human works or sacrifices.

When Abraham awoke, the proceedings were over and he had not even participated in the ceremony! He had absolutely no input in drawing up the Covenant of faith for which he is so well known.

The Father knew that no mortal person, having inherited sinful nature, would be capable of entering into and keeping covenant with Him.

While Abraham was unconscious, the Father and Messiah burnt up the sacrifice, confirming the covenant.

Two symbols appeared on the scene. The Smoking furnace represented the Father, while the Burning Lamp symbolized Messiah, man’s divine intercessor.

Those symbols passed between the two piles, which ratified the covenant made to Abraham.

The lamp that lights every man that comes into the world, now stood as Abraham’s representative on this most solemn occasion, when an everlasting plan, or agreement, regarding the eternal future of the human race was carried out.

The communion with the Father that was lost in the Garden of Eden, was going to be restored through Messiah’s sacrificial death.

Looking back at Daniel 9:27, the word covenant in the Hebrew is ber-eeth’, which means a compact (because made by passing between pieces of flesh); confederacy, [con-]feder[-ate], covenant, league.

By passing through Abraham’s sacrifice, Messiah agreed to be the true sacrifice that took away Abraham’s sins, and the sins of his descendants who believed by faith in the atoning work of the promised Messiah.

How can we know that the burning lamp represented Messiah?

Consider this: If Messiah, the Son of the Father, was destined to take the place of sinful man, and die the death of the cross, was it not reasonable that He should also be party to the agreement that would require His life?

In Hebrews 9:15-17, the covenant delivered to Abraham is identified as the New Covenant or the Eternal Covenant that Messiah “confirmed” by the shedding of His blood.

Then the writer of Hebrews goes on to identify Messiah not only as the One who validated that covenant, but also as its author!

And for this reason Christ is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance. For where there is a testament, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is in force after men are dead, since it has no power at all while the testator lives.”

It’s telling us that the New (or Abrahamic) Covenant could not be confirmed or ratified until the One who made it died.

Hebrews 9:28 states that “Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many,” which is a perfect match to Daniel 9:24-27. Messiah’s sacrificial offering covered all of the sins that are listed in Daniel 9:24, and His sacrifice made to save many.

Who was it that died for the sins of mankind?

Wasn’t it Messiah, who is also called the “Light of the World”?

If only His death could validate that agreement, then it had to be He who authored it!

Think for a minute, when did Messiah present His will, or agreement, or Covenant to mankind? There was only one such encounter recorded in Scripture.

It was when the Burning Lamp appeared with the Smoking Furnace while Abraham was asleep under the power of their presence.

2 Chronicles 21:7 foretells Messiah coming as the “lamp”, even though the Israelites had broken their covenant with the Father, Yet the LORD would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that He had made with David, and since He had promised to give a lamp to him and to his sons forever.”

Messiah, the co-author of the Eternal Covenant, confirmed it by His sacrificial death.

Hebrews 7:22 tells us, “By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better covenant.”

The word “surety” means “to pledge” as a “bondsman“. When Messiah co-created the Abrahamic Covenant, He agreed to be the surety, the blood sacrifice, that would confirm the covenant.

Hebrews 8:6 tells us, “But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.”

His office of priesthood is more excellent than the Levitical, because the covenant is better, and established on better promises: the old covenant referred to earthly things; the new covenant, to heavenly.

When Messiah sealed the covenant of faith He and the Father had delivered to Abraham, the Sinai Covenant ceased to be. It had served its purpose and was finished!

As the Son died, the Father, the Author of the Sinai Covenant, reached down and tore open the veil that had separated between Himself and His creation.

Now that the old contract was torn up and discarded by the only One who had the authority to annul it – its Author! The barrier between man and the Father was removed forever!

The old covenant had promises of secular good; the new covenant, of spiritual and eternal blessings. As far as the true faith is preferable to Judaism, as far as Messiah is preferable to Moses, as far as spiritual blessings are preferable to earthly blessings, and as far as the enjoyment of Elohim throughout eternity is preferable to the communication of earthly good during time; so far does the new covenant exceed the old.

Messiah fulfilled the promises that were made to Abraham and the Fathers of the faith.

When Abraham took Isaac up to sacrifice him, he told him Isaac that Elohim would send a Lamb.

Abraham looked to the day when the spotless Lamb of Elohim would atone for his sins, and the sins of his descendants who believed by faith.

Messiah is fulfilling Elohim’s seven Holy Feast Days that were given to the Israelites to practice until the Messiah came to fulfill them.

Messiah was without blemish, fulfilling the Feast of Unleavened Bread; His sacrifice as the Lamb of Elohim fulfilled the Feast of Passover, His resurrection fulfilled the Feast of First Fruits, and His pouring out the Spirit of Elohim fulfilled Pentecost.

This would have confirmed to the Israelites that He was the promised Messiah. After Messiah ascended into heaven, the disciples proclaimed all of these things to help the House of Israel see the truth.

The Father’s prophets pointed to Messiah’s covenant, which covered their sins.

Jeremiah 31:31-34 foretold the time when Messiah would offer a new covenant to the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. In Hebrews 8:8-10, Paul confirmed that this was fulfilled by Messiah.

Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them, says the LORD. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.”

Messiah, by whom the covenant was made and ratified, is called the angel or messenger of the covenant, because he reconciles us to his Father.

Malachi 3:1, “Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.”

Shortly after Messiah was baptized and anointed, He proclaimed that He was the promised Messiah when He read from the book of Isaiah in the temple before the Jews.

Ezekiel 37:26-27 confirms that it was Messiah who ‘cut’ an everlasting covenant, that established peace between Elohim and man. And He setup a spiritual temple that can never be abolished, which is made up of His people.

Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them, and it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; I will establish them and multiply them, and I will set My sanctuary in their midst forevermore. My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”

Messiah was the mediator, the messenger and the ratifier, of the covenant of grace which was confirmed with many, both Jews and Gentiles, so that the promise made to all nations in Abraham would be fulfilled.

Isaiah 42:6, “I, the LORD, have called You in righteousness, And will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, As a light to the Gentiles.”

This is proof that the “burning lamp” represented our Savior as man’s intercessor. Messiah, the promised Redeemer, had to be there as the author of the covenant, or His death could not have validated it.

Messiah was sent for the lost sheep of the House of Israel, to offer them a new covenant.

He confirmed this in Matthew 15:24, when He said “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

Map of Jesus Ministry

During His 3 1/2 year ministry He performed miracles and preached the Gospel to the lost House of Israel.

Messiah focused His ministry in the areas north of Jerusalem, where the House of Israel used to live before the Assyrians scattered them, and where some of them had regathered.

He ministered in Bethsaida Julias (the home of Peter, Andrew, and Philip), Caesaria Philippi, Cana, Capernaum, Chorazin, the Decapolis, Gennesaret, Jericho, Nain, Nazareth, Perea, the Region of the Gadarenes, Samaria, Sidon, Sychar, and Tyre. (Jerusalem is marked by RED. YELLOW marks the places where Messiah ministered.)

The 70th week of Daniel covenant is eternal, not just for 7 years.

Today’s Pastors teach that the Antichrist will make a 7 year covenant with Israel, but Daniel 9:27 is not saying that the covenant only lasts for 7 years.

It is saying that Messiah (and His disciples) confirmed the covenant for 7 years.

So how did Messiah confirm that He was the Messiah confirming the Covenant?

1. By the testimony,

  • Of angels;
  • Of John the Baptist;
  • Of the wise men;
  • Of the disciples;
  • Of Moses and Elisha
  • Of Pharisees, such as Nicodemus;
  • Of the devils that confessed him.

2. By His preaching.

3. By healings, signs and wonders.

4. By His holy life.

5. By His death and blood shed.

6. By His resurrection and ascension.

The ‘Old‘ and ‘New‘ Covenant refer to their confirmation date.

The terms “new” and “old” in regard to the covenant DON’T refer to their creation date; rather, they indicate the order in which they were confirmed.

The Sinai Covenant was confirmed in the Levitical priest system by the daily sacrifice of the lamb for the sins of the people.

The Abraham Covenant was confirmed by Messiah our High Priest, who died on the cross as the sacrificial Lamb of Elohim. So it is referred to as “new.”

Messiah was “cut off”, crucified midway through Daniel’s 70th week.

Isaiah 53:8 foretold that Messiah would be ‘cut off’ for our sins. “He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.”

This directly matches Daniel 9:27 which foretold that His sacrifice would end the need for temple sacrifices, as He was the one-time atonement for our sins, “and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease.”

It is clear from John’s Gospel that our Messiah’s ministry was approximately, if not exactly, three and a half years in duration. Hence from His anointing until His death would be “in the midst” of the 70th week.

This is a perfect match with Daniel 9:27, which says “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease.”

At the moment of His death, “the veil of the temple was torn in two” (Matthew 27:51).

Why?

Because this act of the Father signified that all animal sacrifices at that moment ceased to be of value, because the Perfect Sacrifice was offered once and for all. It fulfilled the law and the need for Levite priests to mediate for men!

Because Messiah is the Mediator of the new covenant, so there is no separation between us and the Father.

By His blood sacrifice, Messiah fulfilled the demands that Elohim made to the Jews in Daniel 9:24:

Seventy weeks are determined for your people and for your holy city, To finish the transgression, To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision and prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy.”

Messiah’s blood sacrifice covered over the transgressions which were committed under the old covenant, which the blood of bulls and calves could not do. It provided reconciliation for iniquity and brought in everlasting righteousness. It sealed up all Old Testament prophecies which pointed to their coming Messiah.

Paul confirmed this in Hebrews 9:15, “And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance..”

The Holy Spirit testified in Hebrews 10:15-18, “But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.”

Messiah, the Lamb of Elohim, the sacrifice to which all the Jewish festivals and sacrifices pointed, the long awaited Messiah cried out, “It is finished!” The Sinai covenant, with it sacrificial system its rituals and animal sacrifices was fulfilled.

Hebrews 10:11-12 “And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God.”

Take away Messiah’s place in the middle of the 70th week, and you have taken away the cross of Christ from its prophetic setting!

70 Weeks of Daniel prophecy didn’t bring an end to the Jews being able to be saved, it ended the need for the religion of Judaism and the Old Covenant system, which leads to death.

Jews are blinded to the Gospel and salvation under the new covenant, because they refuse to read the New Testament, so a veil covers their eyes as they read the Old Testament.

What about the last 3 1/2 years of the 70th week of Daniel?

For 3 1/2 years after Messiah’s death, His disciples continued to preach the Gospel to the Jews.

The crucifixion and resurrection would have been a great testimony to the Jews, to validate that He was the Messiah who was sent to offer them a new covenant.

Acts 2 testifies that many Jews came to believe in Messiah, through the disciples witness, “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.” Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.”

The early Church of Messiah was formed by those of the House of Israel and the House of Judah, who accepted Messiah’s new covenant.

The 70th Week of Daniel ended when Stephen the Apostle boldly accused the Jewish leaders of killing the prophets and delivering Messiah up to be killed. The Jews responded by stoning Stephen to death.

The coats of Stephens killers were laid at the feet of Saul, who soon became Paul, the Apostle to the Nations (Gentiles).

And from then on, the Gospel was preached to both Jews and Gentiles, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galations 3:28.

The Jewish leaders rejection of Messiah sealed their fate.

After Pilate found Messiah innocent, the Jewish leaders cried out for Him to be crucified and said “His blood be on us and on our children.”

Because of their rejection of Messiah and his New Covenant, their own blood curse fulfilled prophetic words in Daniel 9:26-27, and they were desolated.

The “Prince” in Daniel 9:26 is Messiah, and “the people of the prince,” the Roman army, came as a flood and “destroyed the city and the sanctuary.

In Luke 19:41-44, as Messiah entered Jerusalem for the last time, He lamented that the Jews did not heed Daniel’s 70 week prophecy, which told them exactly when He would come.

Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it, saying, “If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. For days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side, and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation.”

The abomination of desolation does not apply to an end-time Antichrist, it was the Roman army (who was an Abomination to the Jews), who came and desolated the Jews and the temple.

In Matthew 24:15, Messiah warned “when you see the ‘abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place”.

Luke 21:20 clarifies what is the abomination of desolation, “But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near.”

The Roman army surrounded the holy place of Jerusalem and “desolated” the Jewish people from 66 – 70 A.D., causing 1.1 million Jews to die from starvation, disease, infighting, crucifixion and by the Roman sword.

This fulfilled the Parable of Wedding Feast, where Messiah’s New Covenant was offered to the Jews, but they had Messiah and His disciples killed, so the Father sent His armies to destroy them and their city.

This fulfilled the Parable of the Wicked Vinedressers” where the wicked tenants killed the son of the vineyard owner. When Messiah asked the Jewish leaders what the consequences were, they said “He will destroy those wicked men miserably.”

Elohim’s vengeance for all of the righteous blood came upon this generation, and Messiah had the Roman army destroy them and burn up Jerusalem.

70th week of Daniel deception summary

As you can see, the covenant that is referenced in Daniel 9:27 was fulfilled by the Messiah, who was ratifying the Abrahamic Covenant of ‘salvation by faith’ with His shed blood.

It is not an end-time antichrist making a peace covenant with Israel, it is Messiah offering His new covenant to the house of Israel and with the house of Judah for 7 years, before it was also offered to the nations (gentiles).

This completely invalidates the framework for an end-times Antichrist making a peace covenant with Israel.

And along with it, it invalidates the concepts of the 7-year tribulation period, the need for a rebuilt Jewish temple, the antichrist desecrating the temple and his 3 1/2 years of Great Tribulation.

And if there is no 7-year tribulation period, then the pre-tribulation rapture concept is proven to be a myth. For an in-depth Bible study on the rapture, click on The Pretribulation Rapture Myth.

Friend, I don’t know about you, but when the Spirit revealed these truths to me, it broke my heart, as I had been led astray for so many years.

My heart grieves every time I hear a Pastor teaching the wrong interpretation of the 70th Week of Daniel, as I realize how many people are blindly trusting them.

It is blasphemy to replace the work of the Messiah, with the Antichrist.

I pray that people learn the truth and repent. I pray that Pastors can humble themselves to read this study and learn Elohim’s truth, so that everyone can see how Satan has deceived us, so that we repent and have revival in the truths of the Messiah.

I pray that you will share this study with everyone you know, because the end is near and Messiah will return soon, and you need to be alert and prepared, instead of deceived.

Confirming A Covenant With Many For Seven Years

This 70th week of Daniel Bible study will prove how Messiah and His disciples “confirmed” the Everlasting Covenant for seven years to the House of Israel and the House of Judah.

The previous Bible study proves that the Covenant in the 70th week off Daniel is Messiah’s New Covenant, and this study will show you how it was fulfilled.

Daniel 9:27 is not saying that the covenant would only last for 7 years, it’s saying that the Everlasting Covenant would be confirmed with the Jews for 7 years, giving them the opportunity to accept their promised Messiah.

The word confirm tells us that the covenant already existed.

The Old Testament is full of prophecies which point to the Messiah confirming the covenant that was made to Abraham.

Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David, and the remnant, were saved by faith in the coming Messiah, who would fulfill the covenant to atone for their sins. The rest of the Israelites tried to earn salvation by their works, by the Law, and they were condemned for it.

Malachi 3:1 foretold that the Messenger of the covenant would appear.

Behold, I send My messenger, And he will prepare the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, Will suddenly come to His temple, Even the Messenger of the covenant, In whom you delight. Behold, He is coming,” Says the LORD of hosts.

Paul told us that Messiah came to confirm the promised covenant.

What’s called the New Covenant is really an old covenant, that was ratified by the blood of Christ, thereby putting it into full effect. It was new since it was ratified after the Mosaic Covenant, which it rendered null and void.

But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.” Hebrews 8:6

So let’s look at a timeline to see how Messiah and His disciples confirmed the New Covenant to the Jews for seven years.

Messiah confirmed that He was the promised Messiah when He read the passage from Isaiah at the beginning of His ministry.

So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written: “The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.” Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.” Luke 4:16-21

He confirmed that it was He who was sent to be a covenant for the Jews by:

His wisdom and knowledge of the Word of Elohim…

And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching,” Matthew 7:28

His miracles…

When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.” Matthew 8:16

His shed blood as the spotless Lamb of Elohim…

And He(Messiah) said to them, “For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” Matthew 26:28

His resurrection…

And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all.” Acts 4:33

And by His fulfilling Elohim’s Holy Feast days, which the Jews would have known.

Passover pointed to the Messiah as our Passover lamb whose blood was shed for our sins. 1 Corinthians 5:7

Unleavened Bread pointed to the Messiah’s sinless life (as leaven is a picture of sin in the Bible).

First Fruits pointed to the Messiah’s resurrection as the first fruits of the righteous. (1 Cor. 15:20)

Pentecost represented the Father pouring out His Holy Spirit on Messiah’s disciples.

Messiah fulfilled Daniel’s prophecy about the 70th week, that said that Messiah the Prince would be cut off midway through the seven years, meaning after 3 1/2 years.

John’s Gospel collaborates this by recording the number of Passover feasts that occurred during Messiah’s ministry.

Daniel 9:26 “Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; fulfills the prophecy about the promised Messiah in Isaiah 53:4-8

“Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

So we clearly see that Messiah the Prince of Daniel 9:25, ministered to the Jews for 3 1/2 years, offering them proofs that He was the Promised One, their Messiah.

And we clearly see that his blood sacrifice confirmed the covenant that was made before Abraham.

After Messiah ascended, the Apostles preached the Gospel to the Jews for 3 1/2 years.

Messiah commanded them to be witnesses to all nations, beginning in Jerusalem.

and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.” Luke 24:47

The Gospel was offered to the Jews first, then to the Gentiles.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.”Romans 1:16

They were validated by their signs.

And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen. ” Mark 16:20

Acts tells us that on the day of Pentecost, the disciples confirmed the New Covenant to Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven.

Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born? Parthians and Medes and Elamites, those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoining Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabs–we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.” Acts 2:7-11

Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.” Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”Acts 2:36-39

3,000 of these Jews accepted Him as their promised Messiah and were saved; and no doubt they returned home to spread the Gospel to other Jews.

Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.” Acts 2:41

The Apostles continued preaching the Gospel daily in the temple area.

So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being savedActs 2:46-47

Peter proclaimed Messiah to the Jews after healing a lame man.

The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go. But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you; And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.” Acts 3:13-15

Peter preached the Gospel to the Jews, telling them that those who believe by faith in Messiah’s New Covenant are the seed of Abraham.

You are sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.‘” Acts 3:25

Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say,“And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “and to your Seed,” who is Christ.” Galatians 3:16

Peter proclaimed that the Gospel was given to Jews first.

To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities.” Acts 3:26

They preached to the Jews, though the priests, the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, tried to stop them.

many of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.” Acts 4:4

Peter preached the Gospel to the Jewish rulers, elders, and scribes, as well as Annas the high priest, Caiaphas, John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the family of the high priest.”

let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’ Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”Acts 4:10-12

Acts 5:12-16 tells us the Apostles healed the sick and cast out demons, which resulted in more Jews believing in Him as their Messiah.

And all the more believers in the Lord, multitudes of men and women, were constantly added to their number.” Acts 5:14

Peter and the Apostles preached again to the high priest, the captain of the temple, and the chief priests

The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you had put to death by hanging Him on a cross . “He is the one whom God exalted to His right hand as a Prince and a Savior, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. “And we are witnesses of these things; and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him.” Acts 5:30-32

Despite the Jewish leaders having them beaten and commanded that they should not speak in the name of Messiah, they continued to preach the Gospel in the Jewish temple.

And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.” Acts 5:42

Even Jewish priests came to accept Him as their Messiah.

The word of God kept on spreading; and the number of the disciples continued to increase greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were becoming obedient to the faith.” Acts 6:7

Then the Jewish leader stoned Stephen the Apostle to death, thereby finalizing their rejection of Messiah.

At this point a shift occurred, where the Apostles and Early Church began preaching the Gospel to Gentiles too, which no doubt marks the end of the 7-year period or preaching only to the Jews.

Many in the Early Church fled Jerusalem after Stephen’s stoning, and began preaching the Gospel in the regions of Judea and Samaria.

Saul was in hearty agreement with putting him to death. And on that day a great persecution began against the church in Jerusalem, and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.” Acts 8:1

Peter was called to proclaim the Gospel to the Samaritans.

Therefore, those who had been scattered went about preaching the word. Philip went down to the city of Samaria and began proclaiming Christ to them.”Acts 8:4-5

Peter and John went to minister to the Samaritans, where they received the Holy Spirit.

Now when the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent them Peter and John, who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit.” Acts 8:14-15

Philip was directed to preach the Gospel to the Ethiopian Eunuch, which lead to his profession of faith and baptism.

And Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.Acts 8:37

The Ethiopian Eunich no doubt preached the Gospel in Ethiopia, causing more people to be saved.

Philip then preached in all the cities unto Caesarea.

Philip found himself at Azotus, and as he passed through he kept preaching the gospel to all the cities until he came to Caesarea.” Acts 8:40

Acts 9 describes Saul’s conversion, to become the Apostle to the Gentiles.

Acts 10 describes Peter’s vision about preaching to the Gentiles in Caesarea, where they received the Holy Spirit.

Acts 11:18 speaks of the transition, where the Apostles realized that the Gentiles were being given the Holy Spirit too.

When they heard these things they became silent; and they glorified God, saying, “Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life.”

And those who had spread far away to preach the Gospel to the Jews, also began to preach to Gentiles.

Now those who were scattered after the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to no one but the Jews only. But some of them were men from Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists, preaching the Lord Jesus.” Acts 11:19-20

Acts 13 describes Paul’s first missionary journey where he preached the Gospel and established Churches in Gentile countries. Paul preached the Gospel to the Jews in Antioch, who rejected it.

“Then Paul and Barnabas grew bold and said, It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken to you first; but since you reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles.” Acts 13:46

The Word says that Messiah made both – Jews and gentiles, one church.

Ephesians 2:14-22 “For He Himself is our peace, who has made both (Jew and Gentile) one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone, in whom the whole building, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.”

Galatians 3:28-29 tells us that followers of Messiah (Jew and Gentile) are Abraham’s seed who receive the promises made to Abraham.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

Paul is clearly telling us that true Israel, true Jews, believe by faith, and so inherit the promises made to father Abraham.

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9

Everyone who believes in Messiah by faith, are the Chosen People of God. They will inherit Holy Jerusalem when Messiah returns.

Confirming the 70th week of Daniel conclusion.

You can clearly see that Messiah and His disciples preached the Gospel to the House of Israel and the House of Judah for 3 1/2 years, during Messiah’s ministry.

And you can see that the Apostles and Early Church preached the Gospel exclusively to the Jews, up until Stephen was stoned by the Jewish leaders.

Then there is a marked transition where the Gospel was also preached to the Gentiles.

So it’s not a 7-year peace agreement with the modern state of Israel in the end times; it was the everlasting covenant that was preached to the Jews for seven years.

Those that accepted Him as their Messiah were saved; those that didn’t were lost, and were desolated when the Roman army flooded Jerusalem in 70 A.D

Messiah appeared in 27 A.D., so the 70th week of Daniel would have ended in 34 A.D.

Wikipedia shows that Stephen was stoned to death in 34 A.D., which matches. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Stephen

Next 70th Week Of Daniel Study: The People Of The Prince Of Daniel 9

open-bible-200v2

The 70th Week Of Daniel Prince Deception

This 70th week of Daniel Bible study will show you that the “prince” in the 70 Weeks of Daniel prophecy was Messiah and the “people of the prince” was the Roman army.

The reason this is so very important is that many Pastors teach that it refers to an end-times Antichrist.

The framework for the concepts of the pre-tribulation rapture, the 7-year tribulation period, the need for a rebuilt Jewish temple, the antichrist desecrating the temple, and the 3 1/2 years of Great Tribulation; are ALL based on the premise that the prince in Daniel 9:26 is an end-times Antichrist.

By proving that it was pointing to Roman Prince Titus, the premise of it applying to a future antichrist is invalidated.

And thus, the foundation for all of these end-times concepts is destroyed.

What is being taught today about Daniel’s 70th Week is contrary to what has been taught by the top Bible scholars.

Top Bible commentators like Albert Barnes, John Calvin, Adam Clarke, John Gill, Matthew Henry, Matthew Poole, John Wesley and others; all teach that Messiah confirmed the covenant that is referenced in Daniel 9:27, and they all teach that He and His disciples completely fulfilled the 70th Week of Daniel prophecy.

Today’s Pastors teach that the prophetic clock stopped after 69 weeks and that the 70th week is the end times 7 year tribulation period.

And if they did not repent, reconcile with Elohim and accept the Messiah; He would cause them to be desolated by the Roman army which would come against them.

To understand the context of the prophecy, read the complete chapter of Daniel 9.

Daniel 9:25 tells us that Messiah the Prince will arrive to be anointed.

Know therefore and understand, That from the going forth of the command To restore and build Jerusalem Until Messiah the Prince, There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; The street shall be built again, and the wall, Even in troublesome times.”

The word Prince in the Greek is nagiyd (5057 in Strong’s), which can mean a commander (as occupying the front), civil, military or religious; generally (abstractly, plural), honorable themes:—captain, chief, excellent thing, (chief) governor, leader, noble, prince, (chief) ruler.

We know that nagiyd refers to the promised Messiah.

The focus of this study is Daniel 9:26-27.

And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; And the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, And till the end of the war desolations are determined.

And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

In verse 26, where it says “and the people of the prince” the word prince is again nagiyd, telling us that it is the same person as the previous verse.

Scripture should be interpreted literally unless it is evident that a symbolic interpretation is warranted by the text.

It is telling us that Messiah (the prince mentioned in the previous verse) will send people to destroy the city and the sanctuary, to desolate the Jews who rejected Him as their Messiah.

Messiah called Himself “the ruler over the kings of the earth,” and that would include the Romans.

and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth.” Revelation 1:5

Here’s a brief explanation of how this prophecy was fulfilled:

The Romans were the enemy of the Jews and an abomination to them, because of their pagan rituals.

The Roman army surrounded the city, just as Messiah forewarned them in Luke 19:43, “For days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side.”

The Roman army standing in the Holy place of Jerusalem represented the ‘abomination of desolation,’ fulfilling Luke 21:20, “But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near.”

Followers of Messiah heeded His warning and escaped Judea before the destruction, and there is not one documented death of a Christian by the Romans.

Because the Roman army cut off the food supplies into the city, famines and pestilences killed many people, fulfilling Matthew 24:7, “And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.”

The Roman army entered into Jerusalem en mass (with a flood) in 70 A.D., and desolated the city, the temple and the people, fulfilling Daniel 9:26-27.

During the time of Great Tribulation (Matt. 24:21), also known as the “time of Jacob’s trouble“, 1.1 million Jews died during the war with the Romans; hundreds of thousands from infighting, many from famine and pestilence, 10’s of thousands by crucifixion, and hundreds of thousands by the Roman sword.

As the prophecy of Daniel’s 70th week foretold, those that accepted the Messiah escaped the judgment, and those that rejected Him were desolated.

The prophecy was completely fulfilled and matches up with Messiah’s warnings in the Olivet Discourse.

During Messiah’s triumphant entry, He lamented over Jerusalem.

In Luke 19:41-44, Messiah and His disciples approached Jerusalem and He told them that the Jews enemies would surround them, and level them and the temple.

In this your day” and the “time of your visitation” refer back to Daniel’s 70 Weeks prophecy, which told them exactly what year the Messiah would arrive.

Yet “He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.” John 1:10

In Matthew 23, Messiah condemned the Scribes and Pharisees and told them that all of the righteous blood that they had shed would come on them.

Therefore you are witnesses against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets. Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers’ guilt. Serpents, brood of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell?

Therefore, indeed, I send you prophets, wise men, and scribes: some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to city, that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. Assuredly, I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation.

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! See! Your house is left to you desolate; for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ “

They “filled up the measure of their Father’s guilt” when they delivered Messiah up to be crucified and when they killed the prophets Messiah sent to them.

The Parable of the Landowner told the Jewish leaders that they would be destroyed.

In Matthew 21:33-46, Messiah told the ‘Parable of the Landowner‘ who leased his vineyard to the vinedressers, but when he sent to gather the harvest, they killed his messengers and then his son.

Messiah then asked the Jewish leaders, “Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vinedressers?” They said to Him, “He will destroy those wicked men miserably, and lease his vineyard to other vinedressers who will render to him the fruits in their seasons.”

“Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it. And whoever falls on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.” Now when the chief priests and Pharisees heard His parables, they perceived that He was speaking of them. But when they sought to lay hands on Him, they feared the multitudes, because they took Him for a prophet.”

The Father gave them every opportunity to bear fruit for His kingdom, but they killed His prophets and His Son, so He desolated them with the Roman army.

The Parable of the Wedding Feast foretold that Messiah would send an army to destroy the Jews and Jerusalem.

Matthew 22:1-7 says, “And Jesus answered and spoke to them again by parables and said: “The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son, and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; and they were not willing to come. Again, he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “See, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and fatted cattle are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding.” ‘ But they made light of it and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his business. And the rest seized his servants, treated them spitefully, and killed them. But when the king heard about it, he was furious. And he sent out his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.”

Messiah’s New Covenant was offered to the house of Israel and the house of Judah, as promised in Jeremiah 31:31, but many rejected Messiah and had Him crucified.

Then they killed His disciples, as Messiah had foretold.

The father’s vengeance for all of the righteous blood came upon this generation, and Messiah had the Roman army destroy them and burn up Jerusalem.

Messiah foretold the time of Jacob’s Trouble in His Olivet Discourse and told His disciples what sign to look for and how to escape the coming judgment.

Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ ; Daniel 12:11 spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.” Matthew 24:15

Luke 21:20-21 clarifies what the abomination of desolation was. “But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her.”

The abomination was the detestable enemies of the Jews, the Romans; who would surround Jerusalem, and stand in the holy land to make the place a ‘desolation‘.

Most of the warnings in Messiah’s Olivet Discourse were fulfilled in 70 A.D., not in the end times.

The context of “those who are in Judea” confirms that prophecy applied to the time of Jerusalem’s destruction in 70 A.D., not the end times. He was warning His disciples who were in Judea.

The context of “pray that your flight is not on the Sabbath” does not apply to the end times, as there are no prohibitions regarding the Sabbath.

But the Jewish rulers would have impeded the saints from escaping on the Sabbath, because they had so many rules.

Luke 21:24 confirms the context of Messiah’s Olivet Discourse.

And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.”

This matches Daniel 9:26-27,

The end of it shall be with a flood, And till the end of the war desolations are determined. Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate.”

It’s telling us that there is a determined period of time that the Roman army (gentiles) will desolate the Jews.

Daniel 12 gives us more details about the “time of the Gentiles.” It says that it will be for a total of 1,335 days, which was fulfilled as the Roman army surrounded the city in 66 A.D. and then completed their siege in 70 A.D.

You can read more about the 1,335 day timeline by reading LINK

The ‘people of the prince‘ in Daniel 9:26 was the Roman army, who poured into the city as a flood in 70 A.D.

“..the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.”

So the ‘prince‘ in the 70th week of Daniel is NOT an end-times Antichrist.

And since it does not apply to an end-time Antichrist, the foundation for the 7-year tribulation is invalid.

Because of the Jews abominations against Elohim, He made them desolate.

Because of all of the Jews abominations, including delivering Messiah up to be killed, and then killing His disciples, Messiah poured out His wrath on the Jews, through the Roman army.

When Matthew recorded the words “And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” in Matthew 24:3, he no doubt understood “Jesus coming” as meaning His coming in vengeance against the Jews, through the Romans, to end the “latter days” age of the Jewish kingdom.

The “latter days” refers to the time period that occurred when the Jews were released from Babylon in 457 B.C. to 70 A.D when the city, temple and people were desolated.

The Roman army desolated the people and the city.

Matthew 24:21 warned them “For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.”

This the time of Jacob’s Trouble.

Historians record that none of the wicked Jews (who rejected Messiah and who slew the messengers He sent to them) understood what was coming.

Up to the very day of the capture of the temple by the Romans in 70 A.D., they were deceived by false prophets, and were fatuously looking for a miraculous intervention on their behalf.

But abundant documentation reveals that before the destruction of Jerusalem, all the Christians inside the city were able to flee to the mountains and found refuge. Not one Christian perished in the siege, because they saw the sign that Messiah revealed to them.

The Roman army surrounded the city causing death by famine and disease.

The Jews granaries and storehouses of food were destroyed, and supply lines into the city were cut off.

Under pressure of the famine many Jews went out at night into the valleys in search of food. Hundred of Jews were caught every day, tortured and crucified in sight of those on the walls of the city.

The number became so great that there was not enough crosses for the victims, so several were often nailed to one cross.

Jewish infighting led to 100’s of thousands of deaths.

Murders by the Zealots and Idumeans led to 100’s of thousands of deaths, and all of that occurred before the Roman army entered the city.

Josephus relates the case of one prominent man who, because of the ‘great tribulation‘ happening all around, and in order to save his family from a worse fate, killed first his father and mother with the sword–they willingly submitting–and afterwards his wife and children, finally taking his own life.

The Roman army killed 100′s of thousands of Jews by the sword.

Before the Roman army invaded Jerusalem, Titus sent Josephus to speak to the Jews, offering them clemency, and exhorting them to yield.

Josephus made a most earnest plea to them not to resist the might of Rome, pointing out that Elohim was no longer with them.

But it was to no purpose. The Jews detested the Romans. And they believed that they would be saved.

Titus sought to preserve the beautiful temple, but the Romans soldiers were so enraged at the Jews, that they pushed all of the stones of the temple down, fulfilling Messiah words.

According to Josephus the city was so upheaved and dug up that it was difficult to believe it had ever been inhabited.

A total of 1.1 million Jews died, and 97,000 Jews were taken captive and sold as slaves, fulfilling Luke 21:24.

Some were put into bonds and sold to slavery in the Egyptian mines, thus fulfilling several prophecies that they should be sold into Egypt again, from which the Father had delivered them.

The destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans is a complete fulfillment of the prophecy.

These passages clearly reveal that “the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet,” refers to the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD, by the armies of Titus.

Why then should we ignore an obvious historical fulfillment and expect a fulfillment in the future, for which there is no proof?

People argue that since the Romans didn’t desolate the temple in the 70th week, then it wasn’t fulfilled.

But the prophecy does not say that the desolation would happen during the 70th week.

Daniel 9:24 gives the list of things that would be fulfilled during the 70 weeks:

Seventy weeks are determined For your people and for your holy city, To finish the transgression, To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision and prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy.

Messiah’s sacrificial death as the Lamb of Elohim and His resurrection, paid the price for their transgressions and sins; it reconciled believers to the Father; it gave believers everlasting righteousness in Messiah; it ended the Mosaic law and fulfilled all of the prophecies; and it anointed Messiah as their High Priest, who is the corner stone of the spiritual temple of Elohim.

70th week of Daniel Prince deception summary

As you can see, the people of the prince to come that is prophesied in Daniel 9:26 was fulfilled when Messiah sent the Roman army to desolate the Jews who had rejected Him.

This completely invalidates the framework for an end-times Antichrist desolating a rebuilt Jewish temple.

The Covenant In The 70th Week Of Daniel Is Messiah’s New Covenant

Since the “prince in verse 25 and 26 are both Messiah, verse 27 which says that “he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week” applies to the previous noun, which is Messiah.

To see how the covenant is Messiah’s New Covenant, read The Covenant In The 70th Week Of Daniel Is Messiah’s New Covenant

Messiah Fulfilled The Purposes Of Daniel 9:24 During The 70th Week Of Daniel

This 70th week of Daniel Bible study focuses on how Messiah fulfilled all that was purposed in Daniel 9:24

The reason this is so important is that many Pastors teach that because the Jews didn’t accept their promised Messiah, and because they did not fulfill Elohim’s requirements in verse 24; then they must be given more time to do it, which they teach will happen during the supposed 7-year tribulation period.

Let’s look at the purposes for the 70th week of Daniel, to see that it’s impossible for the Jews, or anyone, to fulfill the demands.

You will see that only Messiah the Prince, the Lamb of Elohim, could fulfill them; which invalidates Pastors argument that the Jews will do it.

Before we go through these purposes to see how Messiah fulfilled them, let’s look at the proper context.

Prior to this prophecy, the Israelites had failed to keep Elohim’s commandments to them, which resulted in His punishing them:

Solomon worshiped the false gods of his foreign wives, which caused the Father to split the kingdom in two, the House of Israel and the House of Judah.

The northern House of Israel fell into worshiping the false gods of the Assyrians, so the Father caused the Assyrians to attack and scatter them.

The southern House of Judah (the Jews) fell into worshiping the false gods of the Babylonians, so the Father caused the Babylonians to kill those who resisted, and take captive those who cooperated. They were in captivity for 70 years, which is when the 70 weeks of Daniel prophecy was given.

Through all of these calamities, there was always a faithful remnant who believed in the Father by faith, such as Daniel and Isaiah.

But the majority sought to fulfill the law out of their flesh and they always failed, for “flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God” 1 Corinthians 15:50

So now the Father was giving the Jews 490 years to reconcile with Him and accept their coming Messiah.

The Father had punished them for 70 years, but His compassion caused Him to give them 490 years to reconcile with Him.

The simple context of the 70th week of Daniel is that the coming Messiah would offer salvation through the New Covenant to the House of Israel and the House of Judah.

Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.” Jeremiah 31:31

The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; For this is My covenant with them, When I take away their sins.” Romans 11:26

Those who accepted Him as their Messiah, the true Israelites of Elohim would be saved. They would be saved to eternal life, but they would also be saved when they escaped the desolation of Jerusalem in 70 A.D., fulfilling the prophecy “so all Israel will be saved.

Those that rejected Him as their Messiah would be lost in their sins, and they would be desolated at the hands of the Roman army.

Here’s the purposes of the 70th weeks of Daniel prophecy that are given in Daniel 9:24.

Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.”

The prophet Daniel would have known the writings of Isaiah, and when you read Isaiah 53, which is a prophecy about the coming Messiah, you see many of the words that are used in Daniel 9:24-27, which also point to Messiah.

He was wounded for our transgressions.

The Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all

For He was cut off. (Daniel 9:26 says “Messiah shall be cut off)

For the transgressions of My people He was stricken.

My righteous Servant shall justify many. (Daniel 27 says “he shall confirm a covenant with many“)

For He shall bear their iniquities.

And He bore the sin of many.

And made intercession for the transgressors.

To finish the transgression.

A remnant of Jews returned to rebuild the temple and the city, but a majority did not repent of their sins and stayed in Babylon even after they were set free.

During his ministry, most of them rejected their promised Messiah.

In Messiah’s condemnation of the Jewish leaders He said, “Therefore you are witnesses against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets. Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers’ guilt. Serpents, brood of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell?” Matthew 23:31-33

The ultimate transgression of the Hebrew people is expressed by Peter: “The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go. But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses.” Acts 3:13-15

In what marked their final rejection of their Messiah, the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem killed Stephen after he proclaimed, “You stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you. Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold the coming of the Just One, of whom you now have become the betrayers and murderers, who have received the law by the direction of angels and have not kept it.” Acts 7:51-52

In Matthew 21:33-46 Messiah told the parable of the Wicked Vinedressers. In verse 43, Messiah told the Jews, “Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.”

This was fulfilled after the New Covenant was preached to the Jews for 7 years, then after Stephen was stoned to death, the message of the Gospel went to the nations (Gentiles).

Thus we see that the “thy people” of Daniel 9 24 included the very ones who were responsible for the death of their Messiah. The National transgression was complete.

Let’s now look at how Messiah fulfilled the demand to finish the transgression.

He was taken from prison and from judgment, And who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgressions of my people He was stricken.” Isaiah 53:8

Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, And He shall divide the spoil with the strong, Because He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.” Isaiah 53:12

So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.” John 19:30

And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.” Hebrews 9:15

To make an end of sins.

No man can stop sinning, so it’s impossible that the Jews could make an end of sins.

Let’s now look at how Messiah made an end of sins.

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29

For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.” Romans 6:10

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh,” Romans 8:2-3

For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.” Hebrews 9:26

Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.” Hebrews 9:28

And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God.” Hebrews 10:11-12

This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” Hebrews 10:16-17

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit.” 1 Peter 3:18

And you know that He was manifested to TAKE AWAY OUR SINS, and in Him there is no sin.”1 John 3:5

To make reconciliation for iniquity.

No man can make reconciliation for their sins, so this can’t apply to the Jews, only to our Savior.

Isaiah 53:5 foretold Messiah’s fulfillment, “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.” Romans 5:10-11

Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.” Corinthians 5:18-19

For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight.” Colossians 1:19-22

Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.” Hebrews 2:17

Reconciliation for iniquity was accomplished by the sacrificial death of Messiah as the Lamb of Elohim.

To bring in everlasting righteousness.

No man could ever bring in everlasting righteousness, so this can’t apply to the Jews, only to our Savior.

Everlasting righteousness was what our Messiah manifested in His sinless life, and by His life, death, and resurrection, He has made everlasting righteousness available to all who accept it by faith.

But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe.” Romans 3:21-22

But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God–and righteousness and sanctification and redemption.” 1 Corinthians 1:30

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21

For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.” Hebrews 8:12

Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness–by whose stripes you were healed.” 1 Peter 2:24

Is there any doubt that He ushered in everlasting righteousness?

To seal up the vision and prophecy.

Man cannot seal up the vision or prophecy, so this can’t apply to the Jews.

The Mosaic Law and covenant pointed to Messiah. He sealed them up, that is, he accomplished them, answered to them to a tittle; all things that were written in the law, the prophets, and the psalms, concerning the Messiah, were fulfilled in him.

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.” Matthew 5:17

To anoint the Most Holy.

Only Elohim can anoint the Most Holy. The returning Jews rebuilt the temple, but it was never anointed by the Father, the Ark of the Covenant was never placed there, and the Father’s presence didn’t fill the temple.

Messiah fulfilled this when He came in the flesh and our High Priest was anointed.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord. Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.” Luke 4:18-19,21

Now there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are–the Holy One of God!” Mark 1:23-24

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” Acts 10:38

In summary: All six of these purposes were fulfilled during the 70th week of Daniel. Messiah has fulfilled everything that He commanded the Jews to do.

In the words of the Messiah, “it is finished” John 19:30

An End Times 70th Week Of Daniel Is Illogical

This 70th week of Daniel Bible study will focus on the illogical teachings about the 70th Week of Daniel.

After 1800 years of correct theology about Daniel’s 70 Week Prophecy, from revered scholars such as John Wycliffe, William Tyndale, John Calvin, Martin Luther, Matthew Henry, Adam Clarke, Albert Barnes, and many others…

Today’s Pastors have thrown logic out the window.

They teach that only 483 years of the Father’s 490 year prophecy have been fulfilled; that there is a 1,986+ year time GAP; and then an end times 7 year tribulation, which finally fulfills the prophecy.

So that means that so far it has taken Him 2,476 years to fulfill His own 490 year prophecy.

What kind of God are these Pastors teaching us about?

Only a weak god couldn’t fulfill his own prophecy on schedule.

And logic tells us that if a 490 year prophecy isn’t fulfilled in 490 years, then the prophecy is invalid.

Of course, the Most High Father is not a God of confusion, and He fulfilled His prophecy on time.

The 70 Weeks of Daniel covenant study invalidated the foundation for a future 7-year period, as it proves that the covenant is from Messiah, not an end times Antichrist.

To see how illogical it is to insert a 1,986+ year time GAP into a 490 year prophecy, consider the following.

The 70th Week of Daniel prophecy is about the Jews, not the end of the world.

When you read the ninth chapter of Daniel, it starts with Daniel most earnestly praying with an attitude of humbleness before the Father.

He acknowledges/confesses the sin and apostasy of his people.

He professed that the Father is righteous and just in His dealing out of punishment.

And he prayed to the Father to restore his people (the Jews), as their 70 year captivity in Babylon was nearly over.

While in captivity, a remnant of Jews stayed true to the Father, but the majority did not repent of their ways. Daniel was interceding, asking the Father to forgive them and to give them another chance to return to Jerusalem and reconcile with Him.

He was not praying for revelation about the end times.

The context of the 70 weeks of Daniel prophecy is all about the Jews and their release from Babylonian captivity. The Father was giving them one last chance to repent, to reconcile, and to prepare for their coming Messiah; before He removes the kingdom and blessings from them.

It’s not about the end-times, so end-times prophecy should NOT be applied to it.

It doesn’t make sense to apply the 70th week of Daniel prophecy to everyone in the world.

The angel Gabriel said that the prophecy is only about the Jews being released from captivity, rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem, and preparing for their Messiah.

Daniel 9:24 says “Seventy weeks (490 prophetic years) are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city(Jerusalem).”

The 70 weeks were fulfilled from 457 B.C. to 34 A.D., so it has nothing to do with an end-times antichrist who seeks to control the whole world.

The prophecy was only for Daniel’s people, the Jews; not to Gentiles or other nations.

It’s a 490 year prophecy, not a (483 + 1,986 + 7) year prophecy.

The entire prophecy of Daniel 9:24-27 covers a period of 490 years. Ask yourself…

If God gives a prophecy for a 490 year time period, how long does it take Him to fulfill it?

Of course the answer is 490 years, otherwise it’s not a 490 year prophecy. And if it wasn’t fulfilled in 490 years, then it invalid.

Against all logic, today’s teachers say that the Father only fulfilled 483 years of His prophecy, and that there is a 1,986+ year time GAP before the final 7 years will be fulfilled, as the end times 7-year tribulation period.

There has never been a precedent where the Father gave a timeline and then didn’t meet it in the time allotted.

All biblical references to time are consecutive: 40 days and 40 nights (see Genesis 7:4), 400 years in Egypt (see Genesis 15:13), 70 years of captivity (see Daniel 9:2), etc.

Logic demands that we look to see how the Father fulfilled the prophecy in the allotted time.

What week comes after the 69th week?

Logic requires that the 70th week follow immediately after the 69th week. If it doesn’t, then how can it possibly be called the 70th week!

Today’s teachers say that after the 69th week, the prophetic clock stopped, and that it won’t start ticking again until the end times 70th Week of Daniel, the 7-year tribulation period, begins.

The enormous problem with that logic is that there is no gap mentioned, referred to, implied, or remotely hinted at, anywhere in the prophecy.

They say that the events of the last 7 years of the 490 year prophecy were not fulfilled, therefore they speculate that it must be in the future.

Since logic requires that “seventy weeks” refers to one consecutive block of time (seventy straight sequential weeks), we have to search the scriptures and refer to historical texts, to see how the Father fulfilled the prophecy in the allotted time.

Many of today’s teachers says that Messiah was killed immediately after the 69thweek, and that the 70th week never started.

Ask yourself, how long was Messiah’s ministry?

Was it not 3 ½ years, which was confirmed by the Gospel of John, as Messiah went to Passover, the last time to die.

AFTER the 69th week, Messiah was anointed at His baptism, and then He proclaimed Himself as the Jews Messiah in the temple when He read from the book of Isaiah.

Then Messiah ministered for 3 ½ years.

His death occurred halfway through the 7 year period, fulfilling Daniel 9:27, which says that in the midst of the seven years, the sacrifices would end.

Messiah’s blood sacrifice as the spotless Lamb of Elohim fulfilled the Law, terminating the Sinai Covenant, causing the temple curtain to be torn in two, and ending the need for temple sacrifices.

During the last half of the 70th week of Daniel, the disciples preached the Gospel to the Jews.

Messiah and His disciples primarily ministered to the House of Israel for 3.5 years, as most of their time was spent in Galilee, not Jerusalem.

After His death, Messiah’s disciples primarily ministered in Jerusalem to the House of Judah for 3.5 years.

This fulfills the promise in Jeremiah 31:31, “Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.”

The 7 year period ended when Stephen preached the Gospel to the Jewish leaders and held them accountable for their promised Messiah’s death.

The Jews leaders responded by stoning Stephen to death, fulfilling Messiah’s prophecy in Matthew 23:34-35.

Then Paul was called to be the Apostle to the nations (Gentiles), and Philip was told to preach to the nations. This fulfilled Isaiah’s prophecy that the light of Messiah would shine and salvation would be offered to all of the nations of the earth.

As punishment for the Jews killing Messiah’s prophets, He told the Jews that all the righteous blood of the prophets would come upon their generation. This was fulfilled in 70 A.D. when the people of Prince Titus, the Roman army, caused 1.1 million Jews to die.

Does it make sense to mention the death of Messiah and the end times arrival of the Antichrist in the same verse?

Verse 26 mentions the Messiah who will be killed and the prince who is to come.

Today’s Pastors say that the “prince” is an end times Antichrist.

Implying that the death of Messiah and the end times arrival of the antichrist are in the same verse is not logical.

Mentioning the death of Messiah and the coming prince (Titus) who would desolate those who had Messiah crucified, makes perfect sense.

The 70th Week of Daniel prophecy doesn’t mention the building of a 3rdtemple.

Many Pastors teach that an end-times Antichrist is going to desecrate a 3rd temple.

The 70 Weeks of Daniel prophecy describes the rebuilding of the 2nd temple, but it doesn’t mention the building of a 3rd temple.

Implying that the prophecy speaks about an end times Antichrist in a 3rd temple is illogical.

Pastors use 2 Thes. 2:3-4 to justify the need for a 3rd temple, but the Antichrist In The Temple Deception study reveals that it is referring to the spiritual temple that is made up of followers of Christ, the true Church; not a physical temple.

Read Daniel 9:24-27 and ask yourself:

  • Does it mention a 2,000 year gap in between week 69 and week 70?
  • Does it use the word “Antichrist”?
  • Does it specify that an Antichrist will make a peace accord with Israel?
  • Does it speak of an end times 3rd temple being rebuilt?
  • Did the passage mention an Antichrist who will proclaim that he is god?
  • Does it use the word “tribulation”?
  • Did the passage mention the rapture of the Church?

The answer is NO

So why do teachers incorrectly separate the last 7 years away from the first 483?

Because they don’t understand that it was completely fulfilled, thus they speculate that it must be future.

And because Satan has deceived people, so that they don’t understand the signs of Messiah’s second coming, much like the Jews did not realize the time of Messiah’s first coming.

Because the 70th week of Daniel has been fulfilled, the foundation for the concepts of the 7-year tribulation with an Antichrist entering a rebuilt Jewish temple, are invalidated!

Given that most Christians have been (mis)led to believe in a pretribulation rapture followed by 7 years of tribulation for those that are left behind…

That leaves most Christians woefully deceived about what happens next in end times prophecy, and it leaves them unprepared to face the beast system as it moves the world into their New World Order, where everyone will be made to kneel and worship the beast… or die.

In Matthew 24:24, Messiah said “For there shall arise false Christs, and false Prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”

In 2 Timothy 4:3-4 Paul warned us, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

Daniel 9:26-27 foretells the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple.

There is no mention anywhere in the Bible of an Antichrist making a peace agreement with Israel or destroying the temple and Jerusalem.

But history confirms that the people of Prince Titus, the Roman army, did in fact surround the city as Messiah warned in Luke 21, and they laid the city and temple desolate.

To say that the 70th week of Daniel has not been fulfilled, is implying that the Father did not follow through on His promise to desolate the Jews and their temple, if they did not accept their promised Messiah.

Messiah said in His Parable of the Wicked Vinedressers in Matthew 21, that the wicked tenants who killed the landowners servants and His son, would be killed, and the land given to another to bear the fruit.

Messiah said in His Parable of the Wedding Feast in Matthew 22, that the Father invited the Jews to be married to His Son, if they would accept His offer of salvation. But they refused and they killed His servants. And when the king heard about it, he was furious. And he sent out his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

Those parables aren’t just stories, they were prophecies to the Jews, that they would be killed if they rejected Him as Messiah.

In Matthew 24, Messiah described the Great Tribulation that would take place when the Roman army surrounds the city. Historians confirm that there was famine, and pestilences, and wars, and false prophets who told the Jews it would be okay.

Messiah told the disciples that when they see the Abomination of Desolation, which Luke 21 tells us is the army surrounding the Holy Place of Jerusalem, then they were to flee to the mountains.

1.1 Million Jews died from starvation, from disease, from infighting, from crucifixions, and by the Roman sword.

There are no recorded deaths of any of Christians, people from the House of Israel and House of Judah who accepted Messiah, as they saw the sign and fled the city with the Father’s protection.

To say that the 70th week of Daniel has not been fulfilled, is to remove the finality of the desolation of the Jewish nation.

To remove Messiah’s ministry from the 70th week is to remove the precise timing that proved that He is the Messiah.

Making Sense Of The 70 Weeks Of Daniel 9

This 70th week of Daniel Bible study will provide a fresh perspective on how the 70th Week of Daniel was fulfilled, on time; so it is not a future 7-year tribulation period featuring an antichrist.

This excellent study was not written by me, but it helps you see the big picture of the fulfillment, in its proper context.

“Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.” Daniel 9:24

  1. Introduction:
    1. Our Lord Jesus references this prophecy and offers understanding to faithful readers of it (Matthew 24:15).
    2. We believe our Bibles to be the more sure word of prophecy (II Pet 1:19), which you can and should believe with absolute confidence and trust, regardless of modern speculators and their unbelieving hallucinations.
    3. Our God declares the end from the beginning and brings it to pass without interruption or gap (Is 46:1-13).
    4. The prophecy here was not to confuse Daniel or require more work: it is quite plain to humble readers.
    5. It is this prophecy with specific timing for Messiah, which was fulfilled by Jesus (Luke 3:15; Mark 1:15).
    6. Where do the ideas of a seven-year tribulation, a covenant between the antichrist and the Jews, the antichrist having anything to do with the Jews, a future rebuilt temple in Jerusalem, and the restoration of animal sacrifices come from? They come from unbelievers who promote Israel and their colleagues, but not God.
    7. They make the LORD our God a confused liar, Jesus our Messiah the antichrist, the new covenant a contract with the devil, and a rebuilt temple with animal sacrifices by apostate Christ-haters to be a holy place!
    8. A study of this chapter will make you angry for the abominable corruptions made by Futurisms liars.
    9. The simple argue about pre-trib, mid-trib, or post-trib. But God says loudly, there is no 7-year tribulation!
    10. Your spirit should be provoked considering their perversion of this prophecy, as Phinehas was in Shittim over profane fornication (Num 25:6-8) and Paul was in Athens over widespread idolatry (Acts 17:16).
    11. Never have so many who think they know so much been so deluded as with these four simple verses!
    12. The Futurists call this chapter’s prophecy the “backbone of Bible prophecy.” We can break it with a straw!
    13. Alva McClain said in 1940, in Daniel’s Prophecy of the 70 Weeks, “Probably no single prophetic utterance is more crucial in the fields of Biblical Interpretation, Apologetics, and Eschatology … with reference to its importance, I am convinced that in the predictions of the Seventy Weeks, we have the indispensable chronological key to all New Testament prophecy.”
    14. Prior to the last one hundred and fifty years of Bible ignorance, there was no confusion about this short and simple prophecy – it gave a timetable for the anointing and death of Jesus the Messiah.
    15. For all who love intrigue and mysteries, there are none here. This prophecy is simple and fulfilled!
    16. But it will exalt the God of glory and His Son Jesus Christ very high, and we can rejoice in truth!
  1. The Setting (9:1-2)
    1. 9:1 We identify the timing of this chapter as one year later than chapter eight, the first year of the Medes.
      1. Belshazzar reigned three years; then Darius took the kingdom of the Chaldeans (5:30-31; 6:28).
      2. Daniel was introduced to a rebuilt temple in chapter eight (8:11), and he was astonished (8:27).
      3. This was the 68th year of Daniel and Israel’s captivity, with two more coming (Darius 1 + Cyrus 1); at which time Cyrus would command Jerusalem to be rebuilt. Praise ye the Lord!
    2. 9:2 In the first year of Darius the Mede, Daniel figured out from Jeremiah that Judah’s captivity was ending.
      1. God foretold using Babylon to punish Israel 70 years, then He would punish them (Jer 25:8-14).
      2. His astonishment at learning about a rebuilt temple in chapter eight would drive him to study.
      3. The books could easily have included other prophetic writings and books of recent chronology.
  2. The Prayer (9:3-19)
    1. 9:3 Daniel seeks the Lord, as a result of his discovery, to bring to pass this prophesied mercy toward Israel.
      1. Daniel’s seriousness in this prayer is indicated by supplications, fasting, sackcloth, and ashes.
      2. He made his great personal ambition and objective to beseech the Lord for mercy for Israel.
    2. 9:4 Daniel concludes introducing his prayer and begins praying to the LORD his God on behalf of Israel.
      1. The LORD, Jehovah of Israel, I AM THAT I AM, was Daniel’s God, and He prayed to Him.
      2. He made confession along with the request, for even promises may be understood conditionally.
      3. He addresses the LORD as Lord, the great and dreadful God. When did you last hear that?
      4. From the very opening, He reminds God of his covenant and mercy to those who love Him.
    3. 9:5 He began a thorough and humble confession of the nation’s sins and God’s righteousness in judgment.
      1. Sin was no vague concept to Daniel; he knew it was leaving God’s precepts and judgments.
      2. He describes the nation’s conduct very plainly as sin, iniquity, wickedness, and rebellion.
    4. 9:6 He acknowledged all the prophets that had been sent to warn them, whom Israel had disregarded.
    5. 9:7 He acknowledged that God is righteous in bringing such confusion and desolation to His people for sins.
    6. 9:9 He acknowledged that God is merciful and forgiving, in spite of all their flagrant rebellion and sins.
    7. 9:11 He acknowledged that the trouble they had experienced was fair, according to the curse of Moses law.
    8. 9:14 He acknowledged that the LORD their God was righteous in His judgment for their disobedience.
    9. 9:15 He appealed to deliverance from Egypt and God’s renown by it to suggest deliverance from Babylon.
    10. 9:16 He beseeched the Lord to turn away His just wrath in light of the heathen reproach upon Jerusalem.
    11. 9:17 He beseeched the Lord to hear his prayer and cause His face to shine on Jerusalem for the Lord’s sake.
    12. 9:18 He beseeched God to hear by His mercies rather than their righteousnesses for His own city.
    13. 9:19 He supplicated with begging entreaties for God to forgive immediately for His own people and city.
  1. The Answer (9:20-23)
    1. 9:20 Daniel received answer to his prayer while he was praying, which ought to rejoice and encourage us.
    2. 9:21 Gabriel, the same angel who helped him understand the first two visions, came swiftly and touched him.
      1. Daniel met Gabriel in the first vision of four beasts (7:16), where he gave him understanding.
      2. And he further heard his name called in the second vision of the ram and he goat (8:15-18).
      3. He was caused to fly swiftly; God gave him extraordinary speed in answering Daniel’s prayer.
    3. 9:22 Gabriel informs Daniel that he is come from God as a servant to give him skill and understanding.
    4. 9:23 God’s commandment to give Daniel skill and understanding of the future came when he began praying.
      1. God does not take a while to think about our petitions. He may wait, but He need not wait!
      2. Dear reader, Daniel was greatly beloved. Does this strike a cord in your breast and soul?
      3. Gabriel tells Daniel he will be able to understand the matter and consider the vision given.
      4. The matter and vision is the plain information given in the next four verses and Gabriel’s flying!
      5. If there is a gap, it is not a matter of skill and understanding, but of imagination and confusion.
  1. The Prophecy (9:24-27)
    1. 9:24 God’s determinate council had a 70-week plan for his people and city to bring Messiah and salvation.
      1. We know this prophecy of 70 weeks is a prophecy of 490 years, 70 weeks of years (70×7).
        1. Such a principle was introduced 1000 years earlier to Moses (Numbers 14:33-35).
        2. We encountered this principle of a year for a day already in chapter seven (7:25).
        3. We assumed it there and rejected it in chapter eight by context, the timeframe of the prophecies: chapter seven covers the last 2000 years and chapter eight only the Greeks.
        4. We are blessed to know this fulfillment, and we know that it took precisely these years.
        5. The coordination with the expiring 70 years of Jeremiah 25 implies 70 weeks of years.
        6. The issue of a year for a day is not debated; but the issue of gaps is certainly debated.
      2. The time was determined! It is not open for modification, extension, suspension, or other lies.
        1. Here is the crux and key of the prophecy: God is true and determined exactly 70 weeks.
        2. Every man that fears God will not have a problem with this prophecy; but the fear of man brings a snare, for you will have to go against the popular opinions of the present.
        3. If you believe God, it all happened within 490 years, which limits it to Jesus Christ.
        4. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to insert any kind of a gap into these words.
        5. The fulfillment in our Lord’s anointing, ministry, death, and apostles is divinely precise.
        6. You need not know any other details for proof – this prophecy must end by A.D. 33.
      3. The 70 weeks of years appertain to Daniel’s people and Daniel’s city, which ended in 70 A.D.
        1. Bible readers know Jesus described the destruction of Daniel’s people and city in His generation (Matt 3:7-12; 21:33-46; 22:1-7; 24:2; Luke 19:41-44; 21:20-33; 23:27-31).
        2. Any student of history knows that the people called Jews and their city were destroyed by Titus Vespasian in A.D. 70, who is yet honored for the event by an arch in Rome.
      4. Six very important events would occur within those 70 weeks of years limiting the prophecy.
        1. The fulfillment of these events must be found in Messiah the Prince before A.D. 33.
        2. Many of the Futurist speculators say these will not be fulfilled until the Millenium, claiming that there are no events in the history of the world to fulfill these prophecies!
        3. Event #1: Israel finished her transgression and filled up her sins and the measure of her fathers by killing the Messiah (Matt 21:33-45; Matt 23:29-36 cp Gen 15:16; I Thes 2:14-16; Matt 3:7-12; Acts 3:13-15; 7:51-53; Dan 8:12,23).
        4. Event #2: Jesus made an end of sins by purging them away (Heb 1:3; 9:26; 10:12,17).
        5. Event #3: Jesus made reconciliation for iniquity (Romans 5:10; II Cor 5:19; Heb 2:17).
        6. Event #4: Jesus brought in everlasting righteousness (II Cor 5:21; I Cor 1:30; Ro 3:26).
        7. Event #5: Jesus sealed up the vision and prophecy by blinding the Jews to understanding of the Scriptures (Is 8:16; 29:11; Daniel 8:26; 12:4; Matt 13:10-16; 22:29; Luke 24:44-47; John 12:37-41; Acts 3:17; 13:27; 28:23-29; Rom 11:7-10,25; I Cor 2:6-8; II Cor 3:14; Revelation 10:4; 22:10).
        8. Event #6: Jesus was anointed as the most Holy at His baptism (Psalm 2:2; 45:7; Isaiah 11:1-5; 42:1; 61:1-3; Matt 3:13-17; 12:28; Mark 1:24; Luke 1:35; 4:16-21,34; John 3:34; 10:36; Acts 4:27; 10:38; Heb 1:9; I John 5:6).
        9. Wise readers will note that the destruction of Jerusalem is not one of these six events, but to follow after the 70 weeks, which were determined precisely for these six events.
      5. If these events occurred within 69 weeks, why in the world was there a need for the 70th week?
      6. The people were in expectation of the fulfillment of this prophecy in 27 A.D. (Luke 3:15).
    2. 9:25 Messiah would come after 69-weeks after the command to rebuild Jerusalem, and it would be rebuilt.
      1. Know and understand this prophecy – there is nothing obscure or difficult here at all.
        1. The event starting the clock of this prophecy would be well known and recognized.
        2. And 69 weeks of years would bring us to the Messiah, Who would then appear!
        3. We should expect to find Messiah appearing 483 years later, as did Israel (Luke 3:15).
      2. The command to restore and to build Jerusalem was given by Cyrus the Persian in 456 B.C.
        1. The pagan chronologies of Ptolemy and Usher are wrong by 80+ years of Persian rule, as Martin Anstey and Philip Mauro have proven in their works on Bible chronology.
        2. Scripture exalts Cyrus’s command (II Chr 36:20-23; Ezra 1:1-11; Is 44:21-28; 45:1-13).
        3. God called Cyrus by name before he was born for this very purpose, and He called Cyrus His shepherd (Isaiah 44:28; 45:1,4). He held him by the hand to do this work.
        4. Artaxerxes, Ahasuerus, Darius, nor any other king ever issued any comparable command to Ezra, Nehemiah, Zerubbabel, or any other man. At the very best they simply and only confirmed Cyrus the Persian (Ezra 3:7; 4:3-5; 5:7-17; 6:1-15).
        5. Any man who dates this prophecy from any other event than the decree of Cyrus is a profane unbeliever, a humanistic skeptic, an ignorant Bible reader, and a blinded fool.
        6. To read one additional word of such a man is to subject yourself to drivel and twaddle.
        7. The reason they do this is simple – having bowed their knee to Baal in order to get their degree, they find 538 B.C. beside Cyrus and choose to fear and obey man’s wisdom rather than the word of God. It is that simple. Let God be true, but every man a liar!
      3. There is a 7-week period of time that covers the difficult years of getting the place rebuilt.
        1. God divided this segment, and it covers Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, Haggai, Zechariah.
        2. There is no gap here at all, but the 8th week commences when the 7th concludes. Behold!
        3. Chronologers can piece together the dates in the Bible to confirm 49 years of building.
        4. The troublesome times of the rebuilding are well documented by these books.
      4. There is a 62-week period of time from the rebuilt temple and city to Messiah the Prince.
        1. Malachi introduces this segment, showing the serious decay of worship in Jerusalem.
        2. The prophecy of chapter eight of Antiochus Epiphanes and the Maccabees occurred.
        3. Most of the prophecies of chapters ten through twelve, the back and forth struggles of the Seleucids and Ptolemies, are fulfilled during this period.
      5. Therefore, 69 weeks bring us to Messiah. They do not include Him. They bring us to Him.
        1. Messiah is only used four times in the Bible, twice here and twice in John (1:41; 4:25).
        2. The two occurrences in John both tell us that Messias is to be interpreted Christ, which gives us confirmation in both Hebrew and Greek that Jesus was anointed Messiah.
        3. Therefore, Jesus of Nazareth is Messiah the Prince, the Christ, according to Scripture.
        4. Andrew told Peter Jesus was Messiah (John 1:41): Peter told Jesus by divine revelation (Matt 16:16); Jesus told a woman (John 4:25-26,42); Peter told the Jews (Acts 2:36).
        5. Jesus of Nazareth is God’s Prince, Messiah the Prince (Is 9:6; Acts 3:15; 5:31; Rev 1:5).
        6. Jesus was neither announced nor recognized nor revealed as Messiah until His baptism (Luke 3:21-22; 4:14-21; John 1:19-51; 2:1; Acts 10:38).
        7. The time was fulfilled (Mark 1:15; Luk 3:1-3,15). The termination of 69 weeks is clear.
        8. Surely the Jews could figure out the time rather easily (Matt 2:1-6; Luke 2:25-26,38).
        9. The Jews were in expectation for the Messiah, for 69 weeks had expired (Luke 3:15).
        10. John was commissioned by heaven to make Him manifest to Israel (Jn 1:31 cp 1:6-8).
        11. He was anointed with the Holy Ghost at His baptism (Acts 10:38; Luke 4:18).
    3. 9:26 Messiah would die in the 70th week, and a prince’s people would destroy the city and temple by war.
      1. Messiah was to be cut off after 69 weeks (7 weeks plus 62 weeks), but not cut off for himself.
        1. If Messiah was cut off after 69 weeks in a prophecy about Him, then he was cut off in the 70th week; and any attempt to cut Him off another time is to be as blind as the Jews!
        2. These words are so simple; they cannot be confused but by intentional corruption.
        3. Jesus was cut off out of the land of the landing for the sins of His people (Isaiah 53).
        4. His death, and therefore this prophecy, has to do with sacrificial substitution, for He was cut off for others, which leads us further to know the he of 27 is Messiah.
        5. It does not tell us when in the 70th week in this verse, but it will tell us in the next verse.
      2. The people of the prince that shall come are the subject of the second independent clause here.
        1. The people shall surely come after the 69 weeks, but they are not tied to the timetable.
        2. The people and the prince are not listed in the six things of the 70 weeks (9:24)!
        3. The language indicates by the future tense a coming after the cutting off of Messiah.
        4. Titus Vespasian Augustus is the prince. He later was Caesar, but he came as prince.
        5. They came as prophesied and destroyed the city and temple, and finished with a flood by overwhelming the city and people and leaving it and them absolutely desolate.
        6. During the war they desolated the city and temple, and also much of Judah around it.
      3. Observe the parallelism between these last two verses of the prophecy, Daniel 9:26-27.
        1. The first half of each verse is describing Messiah, with progressive explanation.
        2. The second half of each verse is describing a coming war, with progressive explanation.
      4. The desolation of Jerusalem was determined, but it is not connected directly to the timetable.
      5. One of the three most important events of the New Testament is the destruction of Jerusalem, which was announced forcefully and often by John, Jesus, and the apostles. Grasp Acts 2:40!
      6. Matthew 24; Mark 13; and Luke 19,21,23 in conjunction with The Wars of the Jews by Josephus give us the details of this destruction of the city and sanctuary and desolating war.
      7. There was not, nor is there now, any Israel or Jews with whom God is dealing, after that desolating event; both Jews and Gentiles have been united in one body, the church (Luke 21:24; Acts 15:13-18; Rom 2:28-29; 9:6; Eph 2:11-22; Gal 3:16,27-29; etc.). Israel today is Khazaria!
    4. 9:27 Messiah would confirm the covenant for the 70th week, end sacrifices, and later destroy Jerusalem.
      1. The 70th week follows the 69th week as certainly as the 62 weeks follow the 7 weeks. Behold!
      2. For the seven years A.D. 27-34, the apostles went only to Jews (Matt 10:6; 15:24; Acts 1:8; 11:19), which fulfilled Gabriel’s words – the prophecy was for Daniel’s people and city (9:24).
      3. The pronoun he opening the verse has a clear antecedent, and it is the subject of the first clause.
        1. The prince of the second clause is not a proper subject and is not a clear antecedent.
        2. The people of the second clause are the subject, with the prince merely modifying them.
        3. The timetable Gabriel gave at the beginning makes any fussing with this pronoun an absolute travesty of Bible study and interpretation. It is the Messiah without any doubt!
        4. There is not one shred of evidence anywhere in the Bible to make these opening words a contract between devil worshippers and the devil occurring in the indefinite future!
      4. He, Messiah the Prince, confirmed the covenant with many during the last and 70th week.
        1. The covenant confirmed in the Bible is the new covenant (Isaiah 42:6; 55:3; Jeremiah 31:31-34; Malachi 3:1; Matthew 26:28; Luke 1:72; Acts 3:25-26; Rom 15:8; I Cor 11:25; Hebrews 7:22; 8:6; 9:15; 10:29; 12:24; 13:20).
        2. He confirmed it by His personal ministry and the ministry of His apostles.
        3. He confirmed it in fact (His death and resurrection) and in revelation (the preaching of the gospel).
        4. The last 27 books of the Bible, which are about Messiah, salvation, and a change from the Levitical system of Moses, are called the New Testament (covenant)!
      5. Messiah’s death caused the entire sacrificial system to be put away (Hebrews 7:12-19; 10:1-14).
        1. Jesus ended the sacrificial system of religion by tearing the veil in two from top to bottom, when He cried out, “It is finished” (Matthew 27:51; John 19:30).
        2. The whole book of Hebrews was written to prove and explain this end of the sacrifices and oblations detailed in the book of Leviticus.
        3. The presence of God was now open by a new and living way in Jesus (Heb 10:19-22).
        4. The seventy weeks were to provide an end of sins and righteousness, reconciliation for iniquity, and bring in everlasting righteousness (9:24). These are the benefits of the new covenant, which is based on the blood and atonement of Messiah the Prince.
      6. The sacrifices and oblations were to come to an end in the midst of the 70th week by His death.
        1. We know this is Jesus by the rest of the prophecy; He died 3.5 years after His baptism.
        2. This verse tells us plainly He died 3.5 years after His anointing. We are Bible believers!
        3. John records four Passovers Jesus attended, which requires at least three years John.
      7. Jerusalem would be desolated until it was consummated, which intends a perpetual destruction.
        1. Jesus told His disciples they would see the abomination of desolation, and they could read Daniel 9:26-27 to understand what they would see (Matthew 24:15; Luke 21:20).
        2. The abomination of desolation is the result of the destructive war (9:26 cp 9:27 cp 9:2).
        3. The abomination of desolation was a Roman army of Titus the prince in A.D. 70, which came and stood in the holy place – the land of Israel (Mat 24:15,34 cp Luk 21:20).
      8. How in the world can we have such a prophecy of Daniel’s people and city and ignore the stupendous events of 70 A.D.? What in the world could happen in the future that would even come close? Jesus said there would never be similar tribulation to the destruction of 70 A.D.
      9. The desolation of Jerusalem was determined, but it is not connected directly to the timetable.
      10. The 70th week is fully accounted for, though a specific endpoint is not named for the 490th year.
        1. He explained the 70th week in its entirely; Jesus would confirm the covenant with many.
        2. For the immediate time after our Lord’s death, His covenant was confirmed with many.
        3. The prophecy is not one of years, but one of weeks; and all weeks are accounted for, with the important events occurring in the 70th week just as prophesied.
  1. Conclusion:
    1. Saints should be angry and thankful – angry against Bible perversion and thankful to the Lord for truth.
    2. Scofield taught and many believe the same doctrine the Jews did who crucified Jesus (SRB, p.914-15).
      1. He and his followers err in interpretation by valuing Ptolemy’s chronology over Scripture, which they do by ignoring Cyrus’s command to rebuild Jerusalem to fit their false chronology. This act of unbelief condemns them to blindness, for God will not allow men to mock him.
      2. The date of the crucifixion is not dated, as it simply is some indefinite time after the 69 weeks, for they must create room after 69 weeks for the last 2000 years and maybe 2000 more to come.
      3. “Unto the end” (26) is an indeterminate period of time; it is already 2000 years long. Therefore, we must buy into a war lasting 1930 years in which there was no fighting for 1900 years!
      4. The he of 9:27 is the antichrist making and breaking a covenant for animal sacrifices with apostate Jews; which requires us to believe God calls such a devilish compact His holy place!
      5. His hallucination makes God a liar, obscures Jesus, misses redemption, promotes Jewish fables, misses Jerusalem’s final end, confuses the antichrist, etc., etc.
      6. They are so in love with a carnal kingdom and anti-Christ Jews that they cannot see nor hear our Lord’s condemnation of a visible kingdom (Luke 17:21), Paul’s condemnation of their Jewish fables (Titus 1:14), and Christ’s condemnation of their synagogues of Satan (Rev 2:9; 3:9).
    3. Who came up with all this mumbo-jumbo? It is hard to tell, for there is no evidence before 1894, when Sir Robert Anderson published The Coming Prince in England.
    4. Futurism’s scheme for this passage may easily be overthrown by any or all of these obvious proofs:
      1. They make the God of heaven a liar; for He determined 70 weeks, not 69 weeks + 2000 years + another week. Let God be true, but every man a liar! This prophecy is limited to 490 years!
      2. They reject the commandment of Cyrus the Persian to rebuild Jerusalem, which the Bible makes manifestly clear as the only commandment in the view of the Giver of the prophecy.
      3. They make Gabriel and Daniel idiots, for skill and understanding cannot apply to such an indefinite prophecy based only on speculation and imagination.
      4. There is no corroborating evidence in the Bible for any of the events of their 7-year tribulation; all their prideful mumblings about pre-trib, mid-trib, and post-trib are all so much drivel.
      5. They either ignore Jerusalem’s destruction in 70 A.D. or have a 2000-year war without fighting, for they want “unto the end of the war” to refer to some future conflict with Khazaria Israel!
      6. If Messiah is not the he of 9:27, then Titus must be; but he didn’t do anything in the midst of any week like they describe, and he never sat in God’s temple or made a covenant with Jews.
      7. They ignore the six main features of the prophecy (24), which were to occur in the 70 weeks; but they are not shy to shove them way out in the future, when forced to deal with them.
      8. Since Messiah is cut off in the 70th week (9:26), he clearly fulfills the covenant and sacrifices of the final week. If not, what did Messiah do in the 70th week, and how?

Geneva Bible Commentary On The 70 Weeks Of Daniel

This 70th week of Daniel Bible study provides the study notes from the Geneva Bible for the 70 weeks of Daniel prophecy.

The Geneva Bible was written in the 16th century and it includes study notes authored by John Calvin, John Knox, Miles Coverdale, and many other leaders of the Reformation.

They provide a simple explanation of the fulfillment of the 70 weeks of Daniel, and show that the Messiah fulfilled the 70th week, so it is not a future 7-year tribulation period as so many people speculate.

The prophecy is about Messiah coming to offer a New Covenant to the House of Israel and the House of Judah, fulfilling Jeremiah 31:31-33.

Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah– not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says the Lord. But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

It is about the Jews and their return to rebuild Jerusalem and them temple, and to prepare for the promised Messiah.

It is not about the end times, not the antichrist.

9:24 Seventy(p) weeks are determined upon (q) thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the (r) transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

(p) He alludes to Jeremiahs prophecy, who prophesied that their captivity would be seventy years: but now Gods mercy would exceed his judgment seven times as much, which would be 490 years, even until the coming of Christ, and so then it would continue forever.

(q) Meaning Daniels nation, over whom he was careful.

(r) To show mercy and to put sin out of remembrance.

9:25 Know therefore and understand, [that] from (s) the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince [shall be] seven (t) weeks, and (u) threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

(s) That is, from the time that Cyrus gave them permission to depart.

(t) These weeks make forty-nine years, of which forty-six are referred to the time of the building of the temple, and three to the laying of the foundation.

(u) Counting from the sixth year of Darius, who gave the second commandment for the building of the temple are sixty-two weeks, which make 434 years, which comprehend the time from the building of the temple until the baptism of Christ.

9:26 And after threescore and two (x) weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but (y) not for himself: and the people of the (z) prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof [shall be] with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

(x) In this week of the seventy, will Christ come and preach and suffer death.

(y) He will seem to have no beauty, nor to be of any estimation; ( Isaiah 53:2 ).

(z) Meaning Titus, Vespasians son, who would come and destroy both the temple, and the people, without any hope of recovery.

9:27 And he (a) shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to (b) cease, (c) and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

(a) By the preaching of the Gospel he affirmed his promise, first to the Jews, and after to the Gentiles.

(b) Christ accomplished this by his death and resurrection.

(c) Meaning that Jerusalem and the sanctuary would be utterly destroyed because of their rebellion against God, and their idolatry: or as some read, that the plague will be so great, that they will all be astonished at them.

How The Leaven Of The 70th Week Of Daniel Deceptions Spread

This 70th week of Daniel Bible study will explain how the concepts of a one-man end-times Antichrist in a 7-year tribulation period became so prevalent, after 1800 years of Biblical teaching that knew nothing of the sort.

You will learn how the Jesuits of the Roman Catholic Church manipulated Bible prophecy to create an end-times Antichrist, in order to deflect blame away from them as the Antichrist system.

Thi Revelation 13 – Roman Sea Beast study reveals that the Popes of Rome are the ‘beast of Revelation‘, the ‘Little Horn of Daniel‘, and the Pope, the ‘son of Perdition‘.

That’s not to say that there won’t be an end times False Messiah, but the truth is that Satan’s Antichrist beast has been waging war against Messiah and His followers since 538 A.D.

This study will explain how the Jesuits have pushed their deceptive Antichrist concepts during the last 500 years, so that they are taught to Pastors at seminary, and then preached to their congregations.

The end times prophecy teachings by John MacArthur, Chuck Swindoll, David Jeremiah and other popular pastors, support the Jesuits Antichrist deception.

Today’s teachers point to an end times Antichrist to rise up from the European Union (which they call the restored Roman Empire) or from Islam, both of which deflect blame away from the Roman Catholic Church antichrist beast system.

Today’s Pastors are teaching end times concepts that are contrary to what was taught by these esteemed Bible scholars:

Albert Barnes, John Calvin, Adam Clarke, John Gill, Matthew Henry, Phillip Mauro, Matthew Poole, Charles H. Spurgeon, William Tyndale, John Wesley, John Wycliffe and others.

So how is it possible that the majority of today’s Pastors are teaching false doctrine about prophecy?

Have they been misled? Are they ignorant? Are they wolves in sheep’s clothing?

In order to understand the answers to these questions, we first need to see where the deception started, and then follow how it become so widely accepted.

Satan empowered the Roman Catholic Church to persecute the church of Messiah, which drove the saints and the Word of Elohim into obscurity.

The truth about Messiah’s love, grace, forgiveness of all their sins, and the gift of eternal life, which had been taught by the early church, was buried under the weight of Catholic tradition, and salvation by works.

During the Dark Ages, the Roman Catholic Church persecuted those who proclaimed the truth of Messiah.

They banned people from reading the Bible, which was in Latin. They burned Bibles and tortured and killed those who had them.

They killed upwards of 100 million people, mostly Christians, during the Dark Ages and the Inquisition.

Then the Father shined the light of Messiah, by having the Bible translated into English.

With the advent of the printing press and the Word of Elohim translated into English, the men who became the Protestant Reformers were finally able to read the Bible.

They found salvation through faith, apart from works, in the pure gospel of Messiah.

And they identified the Antichrist.

When they read the books of Daniel and Revelation, they identified the Roman Catholic Church as the ‘antichrist‘, the ‘whore of Babylon’, who is guilty of the blood of the saints.

The Protestant Reformers taught that the 70th week of Daniel was fulfilled after the 69th week, when the everlasting Gospel was preached to the Jews for seven years.

Here’s the study notes from the Geneva Bible:

Daniel 9:26 And after threescore and two x weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but y not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof [shall be] with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

(x) In this week of the seventy, will Christ come and preach and suffer death.

(y) He will seem to have no beauty, nor to be of any estimation; ( Isaiah 53:2 ).

Daniel 9:27 And he a shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to b cease, c and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

(a) By the preaching of the Gospel he affirmed his promise, first to the Jews, and after to the Gentiles.

(b) Christ accomplished this by his death and resurrection.

(c) Meaning that Jerusalem and the sanctuary would be utterly destroyed because of their rebellion against the Father, and their idolatry: or as some read, that the plague will be so great, that they will all be astonished at them.

The Geneva Bible clearly witnesses that Messiah fulfilled the 70th week of Daniel, and that He sent the Roman army to desolate the Jews, so it has nothing to do with an end-times antichrist.

But the King James Bible did not include these study notes, so they were unavailable to future generations, which allowed the Jesuits deception to creep into the church.

Their dual message of salvation through faith in Messiah apart from works, together with the message that Papal Rome is the Antichrist, changed the course of history.

When Martin Luther posted his ‘Ninety-Five Theses‘ in 1517, it was widely regarded as the initial catalyst for the Protestant Reformation.

The Protestant Reformers told people to “come out of her” (Rev. 18:4) and millions left the Roman Catholic Church and received Messiah as their Savior, which led to the formation of the Protestant churches.

The Protestant Reformation led to a Great Awakening, where worldwide missions led to millions of people coming to Messiah.

Satan no doubt was livid as he watched the Father spread His Holy Word and the saving Gospel around the world, so the deceiver devised a new plan.

The Roman Catholic Church empowered the Jesuits to counter the Reformation.

In 1545, they started meeting at what’s called the Council of Trent. One of its main purposes was to plan a counterattack against Martin Luther and the Protestants.

To do this they empowered the Jesuits, who were a secret Catholic order founded by Ignatius Loyola. They call themselves the Society of Jesus, but you’ll soon find out that they are the Society of Satan.

Their work was to be done not only through the Inquisition and through torture, but also through theology and deception.

The Catholic Church gave the Jesuits the specific assignment of bringing Protestantism back to the “Mother Church.” Look at the state of today’s liberal Lutheran church, and you know they’ve been successful.

Central to this plan, was the need to deflect accusations that they were the Antichrist beast system.

The Jesuits are a covert military order of the Roman Catholic Church, not just priests.

They use fifth column tactics to infiltrate every institution they seek to destroy.

Instead of attacking from the outside, where everyone can see them, they covertly attack from the inside.

The Jesuits infiltrate the very thing they wish to destroy. They’ve pretended to be Christians and have infiltrated Christian institutions, to implement their deceptions inside the walls of Christianity.

They countered accusations by creating the concept of an end times 70th week of Daniel, featuring a one man Antichrist.

The Roman Catholic Church had Jesuit Priest Francisco Ribera, a brilliant man with a doctorate in theology, write a 500 page commentary with an opposing view, where he manipulated prophecies in the books of Daniel and Revelation, to create an end-time 7-year tribulation antichrist.

Ribera applied all of Revelation to the end time rather than to the history of the church.

His explanation was that the prophecies apply only to a single sinister man who will arise up at the end of time; instead of a beast, which the Bibles says is a powerful kingdom (the Roman Catholic Church).

He said that the Antichrist would be an infidel from outside the church of God; instead of someone who presents himself as Christ (the Pope, who calls himself the Vicar of Christ).

He said that the Antichrist would make a 7-year peace agreement with the Jews.

The most important passage that they manipulated is the 70 Weeks of Daniel prophecy in Daniel 9:24-27.

They applied the 70th week of Daniel to an end times Antichrist, replacing the 7-year period of Messiah’s New Covenant being offered to the house of Israel from 27-34 A.D.

These may be the four most important prophecy verses in all of the Bible, because of the end times deceptions that are based on them.

To read a Bible study that proves that the covenant of the 70th week of Daniel was from Messiah, not an end time Antichrist, click on 70 Weeks Of Daniel Covenant Deception

This idea, called Futurism, deferred accusations away from the Roman Catholic Church and the Papacy, so Rome quickly adopted this viewpoint as the Church’s official position on the Antichrist.

Prophecies in Daniel and Revelation tell us about the battle between Messiah and Satan throughout history, from the time they were written to Messiah’s second coming.

The ‘beast of Revelation‘, the ‘Little Horn of Daniel‘, the ‘son of Perdition’ and the ‘Babylonian Harlot,’ all apply to the history of the Antichrist Roman Catholic Church, who proclaims to be Christian, but has opposed true Christianity throughout their history. This is called Historicism.

Satan has used Jesuit controlled false prophets and misled Christians to promote the lie of Futurism.

Following close behind Francisco Ribera was another brilliant Jesuit scholar, Cardinal Robert Bellarmine of Rome.

Cardinal Bellarmine promoted Ribera’s concepts in his work “Polemic Lectures Concerning the Disputed points of the Christian Belief Against the Heretics of this Time“.

His writings claimed that Paul, Daniel, and John had nothing whatsoever to say about the Papal power. He taught that Antichrist was a single individual who would not rule until the very end of time.

His teachings won general acceptance among Catholics.

For almost 200 years after the Council of Trent, Jesuit futurism remained largely within Catholicism.

The Futurism of Ribera never posed a positive threat to Protestants worldwide for three centuries, and was virtually confined to the Roman Church.

Ribera’s manipulation of Biblical text was rejected for hundreds of years, by discerning students of the Bible, who knew better.

But the Jesuits persisted with their plan to cause the Protestants to adopt this doctrine.

In 1812 a Roman Jesuit priest named Manuel de Lacunza published the work ‘The Coming of Messiah in Glory and Majesty‘ under the pen name of ‘Juan Josafat Ben-Ezra’, a converted Jew.

The pseudonym may be seen as a way of making the work acceptable to Christian readers and diverting attention from the station of the author, as the Inquisition clearly taught Christians that Jesuits were the enemy.

In the early 1800’s their futurism concepts latched on to Protestants in the Established Church of England, and from there it spread to America.

The story of how this happened is both fascinating and tragic. Many individuals were genuine Christians but unknowingly became channels of error.

In the 19th century, Dr. Samuel Roffey Maitland advanced the Jesuit teachings.

Dr. Samuel Roffey Maitland, a lawyer and Bible scholar, became a librarian to the Archbishop of Canterbury. He found Ribera’s doctrines and began to widely publish and advocate these deceptive teachings.

In 1826 he published a book attacking the Reformation and supporting Ribera’s idea of a future one-man Antichrist. For the next ten years, in tract after tract, he continued his anti-Reformation rhetoric.

As a result of his zeal and strong attacks against the Reformation, the Protestantism of England—the very nation that produced the King James Bible in 1611—received a crushing blow.

James H. Todd published pamphlets and books supporting the Jesuit teachings.

James H. Todd, a professor of Hebrew at the University of Dublin, accepted the futuristic ideas of Maitland, publishing his own supportive pamphlets and books, which caused the deception to continue to spread.

Pastor Edward Irving created the concept of the ‘secret rapture‘.

As the doctrine of futurism was spreading across Europe, the much-respected Scottish Presbyterian minister Edward Irving, the acknowledged forerunner of both the Pentecostal and charismatic movements, came onto the scene. Irving pastored the large Chalcedonian Chapel in London with over 1000 members.

When Irving turned to the prophecies, he eventually accepted the one-man Antichrist ideas of Manuel de Lacunza.

Irving translated Jesuit Priest Lacunza’s ‘The Coming of Messiah‘ into English and published it in English in 1827. It contains a lengthy ‘Preliminary Discourse’ written by Irving as a vehicle for his emerging views.

Around 1830, Edward Irving began to teach the unique idea of a two-phase return of Christ, the first phase being a secret rapture prior to the rise of the Antichrist.

The concept of the pre-tribulation rapture did not exist for 1800 years, until it was introduced by Irving, who was promoting the Jesuits end-times Antichrist deception.

To read a Bible study about the rapture, click on The Pretribulation Rapture Myth

John Henry Newman promoted the Jesuits concepts in England.

Then came John Henry Newman, a member of the Church of England and a leader of the famous Oxford Movement.

In 1850, Newman wrote his “Letter on Anglican Difficulties,” revealing that one of his goals in the Oxford movement was to absorb “the various English denominations and parties” back into the Church of Rome.

After publishing a pamphlet endorsing Todd’s futurism about a one-man Antichrist, Newman became a Roman Catholic, and later even a highly-honored cardinal.

A definite “Romeward movement was already arising, destined to sweep away the old Protestant landmarks, as with a flood.”

John Nelson Darby created the concept of Dispensationalism.

In the midst of this growing anti-Protestant climate in England arose John Nelson Darby – a brilliant lawyer, pastor, and theologian, who wrote more than 53 books on Bible subjects and is credited as the father of Dispensationalism.

Dispensationalism is the theory that the Father deals with mankind in major dispensations or periods.

John Nelson Darby, like Edward Irving, also became a strong promoter of a pre-tribulation rapture followed by a one-man Antichrist. In fact, his teaching has become a hallmark of dispensationalism.

John Nelson Darby laid much of the foundation for the present popular idea of removing Daniel’s seventieth week from its historical context in the time of Messiah and applying it to a future tribulation after the rapture.

In spite of all the positives of his ministry, Darby followed Maitland, Todd, Bellarmine, and Ribera by incorporating the teachings of futurism into his theology.

Thus, a link was created between John Nelson Darby—the father of dispensationalism—and the Jesuit Francisco Ribera—the father of futurism.

Darby visited America six times between 1859 and 1874, preaching in all of its major cities, during which time he planted the seeds of futurism in American soil.

The Scofield Reference Bible established the deception in America.

One of the most important figures in the spread of these false doctrines is Cyrus Ingerson Scofield, a lawyer from Kansas who was greatly influenced by the writings of Darby.

In 1909, Scofield published the first edition of his famous ‘Scofield Reference Bible‘, which injected large doses of Futurism in the commentaries.

This Bible became so popular in American Protestant Bible schools that it was necessary to print literally millions of copies.

This was the beginning of the end of American Protestant Christianity and a proper exegetical understanding of prophecy and the Scripture.

The Scofield Study Bible was received by Congregationalists, Baptists, and some Presbyterian denominations.

Through the immensely popular Scofield Study Bible, dispensationalism became the standard for biblical interpretation among traditional Southern Baptists in the early twentieth century.

Through the Scofield Bible, Jesuit futurism spread successfully across America. The doctrine of an Antichrist still to come was becoming firmly established inside twentieth-century American Protestantism.

Arno C. Gaebelein promoted Scofield’s Jesuit Futurism concepts.

He was a close assistant to Scofield on his monumental work, the ‘Scofield Reference Bible‘.

Two of his books, “Revelation, and Analysis and Exposition” and “Current Events in the Light of the Bible” explain the dispensationalist view of eschatology.

Lewis Sperry Chafer brought Scofield’s teachings to the Dallas Theological Seminary.

Lewis Sperry Chafer, an American theologian, became associated with the ministry of Scofield, who became his mentor.

When Scofield died in 1921, Chafer moved to Dallas, Texas, to pastor the First Congregational Church of Dallas, where Scofield had ministered.

Then in 1924 Chafer and his friend William Henry Griffith Thomas realized their vision of a simple, Bible‐teaching theological seminary, when they founded Dallas Theological Seminary (originally Evangelical Theological College).

DTS is known as a center of modern Dispensational teaching due to Dr. Chafer’s development of a Scofield-based systematic theology which approaches the Bible with a “premillennial, dispensational interpretation of the Scriptures.”

His eight-volume work describing this approach to theology, “Systematic Theology“, was first published in 1948 and is still a required textbook for some courses at DTS.

Chafer’s theology has been the subject of much study and debate in and out of the theological community since his death, especially on the two larger topics of dispensationalism and Christian Zionism, specifically that the Jews are a people called unto the Father with a separate historical purpose and plan from gentiles.

Dallas Theological Seminary is the key place where the Jesuit concepts were taught to thousands of Pastors, including today’s top TV and radio personalities.

DTS graduates have taken positions at other seminaries, Bible schools, denominations and churches, so that the infection of the Jesuits end time concepts have been spread throughout the church.

As of Fall 2011, DTS has nearly 14,000 alumni serving in various ministerial capacities in 97 countries worldwide, and they’ve been trained according to the Jesuits end times Antichrist deceptions.

Are you seeing how the yeast of the Jesuits futurism deception has spread throughout the church?

Notice how the following Dallas Theological Seminary alumni are promoting the Jesuit Futurism deception.

John F. Walvoord promoted futurism through his publications and books.

John F. Walvoord received a Th.B., Th.M., and Th.D. from Dallas Theological Seminary, and then became the president .

After the death of Dr. Lewis Sperry Chafer, Dr. Walvoord became President of Dallas Theological Seminary and built it into a formidable graduate school of theology.

He was the editor of Bibliotheca Sacra, America’s oldest theological quarterly, was recognized as one of the leading evangelical theologians in America and an authority on systematic theology and eschatology.

He authored numerous books on theology and biblical prophecy, including “Daniel: The Key to Prophetic Revelation“, “The Rapture Question“, and “The Nations, Israel and the Church in Prophecy.”

John F. Walvoord teaches prophecy concepts that support the Jesuits end-time Antichrist deception.

Charles Caldwell Ryrie promoted futurism in his Ryrie Study Bible.

Charles Caldwell Ryrie served as professor of systematic theology and dean of doctoral studies at Dallas Theological Seminary

He is the editor of The Ryrie Study Bible by Moody Publishers, which contains more than 10,000 of Dr. Ryrie’s explanatory notes.

Over 2 million of these Bibles have been sold, each one teaching the Jesuits end times deceptions.

Hal Lindsey brought the Jesuit deception to the mainstream.

He graduated from Dallas with a Master of Theology, majoring in the New Testament and early Greek literature

In the 1970s, Pastor Hal Lindsey, released his blockbuster book “The Late Great Planet Earth.

His 177-page, easy-to-read volume brought Futurism to the masses of American Christianity, and beyond. Over 30 million copies have been sold and it’s available in over 30 languages.

Hal also embraced Dallas Theological Seminary founder Lewis Sperry Chafer’s theory that the Jews are a people called unto God with a separate historical purpose and plan from Christians.

Several of Lindsey’s books predicted the timing of the rapture, only to have the date come and go. Hal has been proven to be a False Prophet

His new program, ‘The Hal Lindsey Report‘, continues to teach the Jesuits end times concepts, and is carried on the Angel One and DayStar networks.

Chuck Swindoll and Insight For Living.

Chuck attended Dallas Theological Seminary, where he graduated magna cum laude.

In July 1994, Swindoll became the president of the Dallas Theological Seminary and now serves as its chancellor.

His Insight For Living radio program is broadcast on more than 2,000 stations around the world in 15 languages.

His series on Daniel and Revelation teaches the concepts of the Jesuits end times deceptions.

David Jeremiah and Turning Point Broadcast Ministries.

David Jeremiah received a Master’s degree from Dallas Theological Seminary.

He succeeded Tim LaHaye as Shadow Mountain’s senior pastor in 1981.

His Turning Point Ministries program is broadcast via radio stations and the Internet. His “What In the World is Going On?” prophecy series was recently broadcast to millions of people.

His wrote the prophecy books “The Coming Economic Armageddon: What Bible Prophecy Warns About the New Global Economy“, “What In the World is Going On?: 10 Prophetic Clues You Cannot Afford to Ignore“.

Ron Rhodes and Reasoning from the Scriptures Ministries

Ron Rhode holds ThM and ThD degrees from Dallas Theological Seminary, and teaches there and at several other seminaries.

He is president of ‘Reasoning from the Scriptures Ministries‘, which is heard regularly on nationwide radio.

Here’s a quote for his website, “We believe that the translation of the church will be followed by the fulfillment of Israel’s seventieth week (Dan. 9:27; Rev. 6:1–19:21) during which the church, the body of Christ, will be in heaven. The whole period of Israel’s seventieth week will be a time of judgment on the whole earth, at the end of which the times of the Gentiles will be brought to a close. The latter half of this period will be the time of Jacob’s trouble (Jer. 30:7), which our Lord called the great tribulation (Matt. 24:15–21).

The fulfillment of the 70th week of Daniel already occurred when Messiah offered a New Covenant to the house of Israel and the House of Judah.

The Pre-Trib Study Group from Dr. Tim LaHaye and Dr. Thomas Ice

Dr. Ice has a B.A. from Howard Payne University, a Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary, a Ph.D. from Tyndale Theological Seminary

In 1991 Dr. Tim LaHaye became concerned about a perceived swaying from the pretribulational doctrine.

The Pre-trib Study Group gathers teachers together who promote the deceptions of the Jesuits.

Talbot School of Theology teaches the Jesuits Antichrist deceptions.

The seminary’s first dean was Charles L. Feinberg, who earned his Th.M. and Th.D. from Dallas Theological Seminary. He was also on the faculty at DTS.

Talbut officially holds to the teaching of premillennial dispensationalism, and requires its faculty members to be in accord with this theological and cultural.

By teaching these concepts, the Talbut School of Theology is promoting the Jesuits end-time Antichrist deception and misleading future pastors.

John MacArthur and Grace To You Ministries, Master’s College and Grace Theological Seminary.

John got his theology Masters at Talbot School of Theology.

John’s ‘Master’s Seminary‘ and ‘Grace Theological Seminary‘ both teach a Dispensational premillennial position in eschatology.

Their website says, “We teach the personal, bodily return of our Lord Jesus Christ before the seven-year tribulation.”

The anti-Christ reign in the 7 year tribulation and pre-trib rapture deception are based on the covenant of salvation in the Messianic 70 Week prophecy of Daniel 9:24 thru Daniel 9:27.

Our 70th Week Of Daniel Deception study proves that the covenant is from Messiah, which invalidates the claim that it applies to an end times Antichrist, therefore it also invalidates that there is a 7-year tribulation period.

By teaching these concepts, the ‘Master’s Seminary‘ and ‘Grace Theological Seminary‘ are promoting the Jesuits end-time Antichrist deception and misleading future pastors.

Here’s other popular pastors who promote the Jesuits end time Antichrist deception.

Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel teaches the Jesuits Antichrist deceptions.

Chuck authored books like “The Rapture“, which teach prophecy concepts that support the Jesuits end-time Antichrist deception.

Chuck prophesied that because the state of Israel was created in 1948, the generation (40 years) that followed would be the last. Of course 1988 came and went, and here we are, so that prophecy was false.

And these concepts are taught in Calvary Chapel churches worldwide and they are taught at the Calvary Chapel Bible College, which misleads future pastors..

Jack Van Impe teaches the Jesuits Antichrist deceptions.

Jack believes the Bible states that the world political leader will “come in peaceably” and create a seven-year peace deal involving Israel.

The premise for the seven-year peace has been invalidated in our 70 Weeks of Daniel study.

Jack Van Impe teaches prophecy concepts that support the Jesuits end-time Antichrist deception.

John Hagee teaches the Jesuits Antichrist deceptions.

John Hagee promotes all of Jesuits deceptions of the end times, and also Lewis Sperry Chafer’s Christian Zionists views about Jews.

The Jews Who Are Not Really Jews study proves that 97% of people who call themselves Jews are NOT the descendents of Abraham, and have no right to the land of Israel or the promises of the Father.

TBN teaches the Jesuits Antichrist deceptions.

The Trinity Broadcasting Network is now the world’s largest Christian television network.

They feature people like Hal Lindsey, Pastor John Hagee, who promote the Jesuit End times Antichrist concepts.

Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins brought the Jesuit deceptions to the masses.

In the 1990s, Tim Lahaye and Jerry Jenkins took the Jesuit Futurism concepts, and applied them in the enormously successful Christian fiction series of books and movies.

The authors of Left Behind and the leaders of these television ministries may be genuine believers who are doing their best to influence people for the Father’s Kingdom. Yet, in the full light of Scripture, they are teaching the doctrines of Satan.

Left Behind teaches much of the same Jesuit futurism of Francisco Ribera, hiding the real truth about the Antichrist.

Through Left Behind, the floodgates of futurism have been opened, unleashing a massive tidal wave of false prophecy, that has swept over America.

Tyndale House Publishing promotes writers who teach the Jesuits deception.

Kenneth N. Taylor, a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary, created of the The Living Bible and is the founder of Tyndale House.

Its most successful publication in recent years has been the Left Behind series of novels by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins, which is one of the best-selling book series in history with more than 60 million copies in print.

Kenneth N. Taylor and Tyndale House Publishing promote authors who teach prophecy concepts that support the Jesuits end-time Antichrist deception.

So are these Pastors misled? Are they ignorant? Are they wolves in sheep’s clothing?

The studies on this website prove that the majority of today’s pastors are teaching end time prophecy concepts that are false, which makes them False Prophets.

The concept of Futurism was created to counter the Protestant Reformation and to deflect blame away from the Antichrist Roman Catholic Church.

The majority of today’s pastors are teaching the Jesuit’s prophecy concepts, which continues to deflect blame away from the Antichrist beast of the Roman Catholic Church.

They may be sincere Christians, but they are teaching the doctrine of the Antichrist, and they will be held accountable!

Most of them have been deceived at seminaries and Bible schools, where the Jesuits infiltrated the ranks to deceive them. Others are wolves in sheep’s clothing, who have sold out to the riches of Rome.

If you have influence with a pastor who is teaching these concepts, strongly encourage them to read the 70 Weeks Of Daniel Covenant Deception study and this page, so that they can see the truth.

There are definite strongholds in Pastors lives that aren’t allowing them to see the truth, so they desperately need your prayers.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12

Joseph Tanner said, “It is a matter for deep regret that those who hold and advocate the Futurist system at the present day, Protestants as they are for the most part, are thus really playing into the hands of Rome, and helping to screen the Papacy from detection as the Antichrist.

It has been well said that ‘Futurism tends to obliterate the brand put by the Holy Spirit upon Popery.’ More especially is this to be deplored at a time when the Papal Antichrist seems to be making an expiring effort to regain his former hold on men’s minds.

The antichrist Roman Catholic Church has regained its power after sustaining a ‘deadly head wound‘ in 1798.

My friend, Satan and his disciples have been very effective in undermining Christianity.

As a result, Christians are deceived and unprepared, because they think that the Father will rapture them out before the 7-year tribulation.

So they aren’t putting on the full armor of Elohim to face times of great tribulation.

They aren’t preparing to have an escape plan, to have food and water, so that
they can protect their family and minister to others.

They will be panic stricken when it doesn’t happen and their hearts will fail them;
instead of being full of faith and helping desperate people find hope in Messiah.

They aren’t prepared to proclaim the name of Messiah when they may be forced to
decide between worshiping the False Messiah(Satan) or death.

Read the The Beasts of Daniel and Revelation study to see how the Bible clearly describes the Roman Catholic Church as the the ‘beast of Revelation‘, the ‘Little Horn of Daniel‘, and the Pope, the ‘son of Perdition‘ and the “Babylonian Harlot‘.

One of the premises of the Jesuits deception is that there would be a peace agreement with Israel by the Antichrist, which meant that they had to take control of the land to create an end time Israel.

Our Jews Who Are Not Really Jews study reveals that 97% of people who call themselves Jews are not the descendents of Abraham, so the regathering in Israel is a fraud.

Many pastors point to the reestablishment of the nation Israel as a sure sign, but it is only the ploy of the Antichrist Jesuits. To learn more, click on Regathering Of The Jews Deception

  1. You have a very informative blog. we are living in an age of deception and many Christians are delusional. we need to focus on the Word of God and not the many false prophets that are publicized all over the television and media. It is refreshing to read your blog.
